Fighting Darkness (Tokoyami X Reader)

The Start of Summer Break

Aizawa sensei told us that we were all going to be able to go to the forest lodge, despite some of us failing the practical exam. He pointed out though, that those who failed would have harsher training.

Hagakure suggested we go shopping to get more things for our trip, so we decided to go the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall. We split up not too long after we met up to shop for our individual needs. Tokoyami and I walked around together.
"I don't need to buy anything, so lead the way." I told Tokoyami.
"I need a few things, so we can start there and then browse other stores, sound good?" He looked at me for an answer.
"Yup!" I smiled.

After Tokoyami and I finished buying Tokoyami's necessities, we went to a couple of stores that we both liked.
While we were in one of the shops, my eyes fell upon some simple, matching necklaces. It was a pair of the moon and the sun.
These are so cute. I wonder if Tokoyami would wear one if I bought them?
"Hey," Tokoyami interrupted my thoughts, "I'm gonna go use the restroom, I'll be right back."
"Okay, I'll go check out and I'll meet you in front of the bathrooms."
I checked out the pair of matching necklaces and put on the one with the sun pendant as I walked towards the bathrooms. I saw Fumikage walking towards me, so I held out the necklace.
"Here!" I handed him the matching necklace.
"For me?" He hesitantly took the necklace.
"I got us matching ones!" Tokoyami looked at me surprised. "For friendship you know?" I felt myself getting flustered. "I figured the moon one would be fitting for you."
"I see. Thank you." He fumbled around with the pendant for a bit. "Would you mind? Helping me put it on I mean?"
This is totally a couple thing. Wait, Tokoyami is like my best friend, don't say that!
"For sure." I shakily got the necklace and clasped the ends together.

"Did you guys get everything you needed?" I asked.
Everyone nodded. We continued small chitchat, explaining what we got to each other.
In the midst of the conversation, Mina yelled, "You guys got matching necklaces?! You really are dating!" She pointed at our necklaces.
I blushed furiously. "I-it's not like that! Don't all friends have matching things?!" I stuttered out.

She's flustered about this. You still don't think she likes you?
I didn't ask for your opinion.

"It's only a couple thing!" Mina continued to tease me.
"No it's not!" I felt my face grow hotter with every second.
"(Y/n) and I are close friends." Tokoyami finally stated.
Ow. That was like a punch in the face. It shouldn't be though. We really are only friends.

In the midst of our conversation, Uraraka approached us with a look of despair on her face. She explained that Midoriya got approached by Shigaraki and was now at the police station giving his statement. It made me feel uneasy that the League of Villains made direct contact with one of us days before we went to the camp lodge but I decided to not overthink the matter.

Not too long after I arrived home, I received a text from Yaomomo.
"Hey (n/n), Jiro and I were thinking about going to the pool tomorrow since we can't go on vacation, and we got our request approved! We're letting all the girls know so I hope you can make it!"
I replied a short, "I'll be there!" and tossed my phone on my bed.

The following day, I made my way to U.A. with some snacks and drinks for us.
