It was about 7 when we got there and Johnnie had parked in some parking lot. I looked out the window to see the streets filled with people. I looked over at Johnnie confused,
"So where did you decide to take us this time?"
Daron looked over at me with a smirk, "Patience."
Cas and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes. Then we all hopped out of the car screaming ready to have some fun. Then Cas turned around and stopped all of us,
"Wait! We have to take a picture first. You guys know how this goes."
"Okay okay Cas. Wanna use my phone?"
"Yeah alright Kammie."
I hoped on Daron's back and Cas was to the left of us with Johnnie on the left of her. She kept saying "Smile" "Silly face" "Be serious" "Show how ready you are to have some fun."
After the pictures we all started walking towards the crowd of people. I kept jumping up and down trying to peek over everyone to see what the big deal was. We then turned the corner and I looked to see the bright blue sign on the building. I looked over at Cas and the guys,
"A night club? No way!"
Johnnie smirked, "Oh and that's not even the best part." He pulled out four cards, "We all got special passes so we can go right in."
Cas and I started jumping up and down with excitement.
We skipped the line and got in the front and showed our cards. Some people were giving us dirty looks and I felt kind of bad so I just didn't make eye contact with anyone. There was a black buff guy standing by the door guarding it. He kind of creeped me out but he let us all in so I wasn't so worried.
We walked in and there were neon lights and black lights shining all over. And apparently we had been on the second floor because there were stairs that led right downstairs to the dance floor right by the entrance. I looked over the balcony to see everyone dancing to the DJ's music and I started to get super excited. I looked over at Cas, "Let's go get our thing on!"
The four of us walked down and jumped right into the crowd. We all started jumping and singing. Cas and I had grabbed some drinks. We usually liked the hard stuff so we got some vodka. Johnnie and Daron took some sips from them and we all went back at the dancing. Cas and I liked to grind on each other just to mess with the guys. Once they saw they would split us apart and try and get some of the action. Darin would put his hands on my waist as a danced on him. I was always a little buzzed at this point so I would always do stupid shit like that.
We were having a blast. An hour and a half flew by and Cas and I headed to the bathroom to freshen up.
We walked in and Cas started talking nonstop.
"I think this is the most fun we have had in a while!"
"Yeah I know!" We were standing in the front of the mirror fixing our hair and makeup. I pulled out my mascara and started reapplying it.
"I think me and Johnnie really got something going."
I looked over at her, raising my eyebrow, "Oh really?"
"Yes! I'm tellin' ya. It's gonna happen."
"Yeah well you always say that."
"No I'm serious this time!"
"Uhuh"
"Oh yeah? Well what's with you and Daron?" She turned to face me, "Y'all flirt all the time and nothing has happened. What's up with that?"
I faced her after reapplying my mascara, "I just don't want to be in a relationship right now. That's all."
Cas rolled her eyes and laughed at me, "Yeah well we all know that's not true. Come on."
We both made our way back out and went to find Daron and Johnnie again. Cas was holding onto my hand through the crowd and we just kept laughing. I pulled my hair behind my right ear and looked up to search for Daron and Johnnie. But instead of finding either of them, I saw someone else and all I could do was freeze right where I was.
How? How did he find me? Why is he here? What does he want?
He was starring right at me. He was holding a drink and his eyes were right on mine. And all I could do was just stand there, frozen in my tracks. I couldn't move. My body stiffened up. My heartbeat ran faster. I could see Cas in my peripheral vision walking back to me with a concerned face. He was still looking dead at me. All of the past memories started to flood right back and I started to get the chills. Fear. Worry. Hurt. Terrorized. My hands started sweating. At that second all I could think about was to run. Run far away.
I ran right past Cas towards the stairs. I ran as fast as I could not looking back pushing people out of the way. Afraid that he was following. All I could do was run far away from him. I ran right out the door past the creepy guard. I sped down the street. I didn't care where I ended up. I just wanted to be far away from him. I could feel my heart pounded through my chest. I ran and ran and ran and ran.
I had been running for what felt like 20 minutes when I finally started to run out of breathe. I didn't slow down though I couldn't.
What are you doing Kammie? Go find help!
I started to slow and look around, "Where am I?"
I started running a little more down the street to come up at an alley. I looked to see if anyone was maybe out walking down it.
Oh my gosh!
I started running like my life depended on it, "Help! Help!!" There had been a guy maybe around age. I couldn't tell because of the dark though. He had been leaning up against the wall.
"Can you...Please help me!" The closer I got, I was able to see him smoking a cigarette.
Can he not here me?
"HELP ME! PLEASE!!" The guy finally looked up once I got to him, but before I could get a good look at him, I stopped, bending down with my hands on my knees gasping for breathe.
"Woah! Are you alright?" The guy had an Australian accent that sounded familiar.
I tried speaking but I had a hard time because of the lack of breathe, "Please...help..."
My vision was a little blurry from the amount of running I did. So when the guy lifted my head up, I couldn't really picture him out. I could feel him feel my forehead and check my pulse,
"Oh my god. You are freezing! Here. Come with me."
My vision started to clear up a little and I saw him put out his cigarette. He put his hand on my my back and led me in through the door he was standing by. He led me up the stairs and sat me down at a chair. My vision had cleared but it was a little dark in the room I was in. I looked up to see the guy talking to some guy who handed him a water. I got a good look around the room and it all looked...familiar.
The guy walked over to me and knelt down handing me the water bottle, "That is for you. Hydrate okay? This is my friend Jordan," he pointed to the guy he had been talking to, "I have to go out for a bit. But I will be back in a bit okay?"
I looked up at him and nodded. My eyes were adjusting to the darkish room and all I saw before he left was a quick glance of his black bushy hair and his smile and then he walked off and out the door.
That accent. His voice. That smile. His hair. It's all too familiar.
