Evening drew near as we reentered the shop.
The owner greeted us, beaming from ear to ear "Welcome back!"
"Hi, I thought I'd get some equipment for Myne."
I looked over to her as I spoke. She was closely inspecting various weapons around the store.
"How's your budget looking?" the guy asked, and I looked over to Myne for help.
I still had 580 pieces of silver. I wasn't sure how much of it I should use.
"What do you think, Myne?"
"..."
"Myne?" It was like she couldn't even hear me speaking to her. I had no idea what hotels went for around here, but it seemed like I'd better set aside at least a month's worth of lodging.
"Hey, what about 300 silver? I don't think I can go higher than 400...." I tried to look for a reasonable sum.
Guy: "Well, as for your friend there. Of course, it's true that you'll be stronger with better equipment..."
"It's pretty difficult to get anywhere with a shield... so I thought I had better focus my resources on buying Myne's equipment for now."
Guy: "Ahaha, this is a tenacious little Hero!"
"40% off!" We argued a bit back and forward for a little while before Myne came over with a cute piece of armor and an expensive, gold-inlaid sword.
Myne: "Hero, I think these will be sufficient."
"What do you think, old man? 60% off."
"I'll give you a deal, 480 pieces of silver. And that's at 59%"
He's fucking brutal! A guy gotta eat and sleep! But all we had left was 100pieces of silver. Would it be enough?
"Myne, think you could downgrade a bit? I don't know how much things cost around here, but we to think about food and lodging since we'll have seperate rooms right?"
Myne: "It will be fine, Hero. With my new equipment, I can make back the money with relative ease. Battle loot will cover it~" She batted her eyelashes and leaned her breasts against my arm.
I gave her a strange look, Something's not right..... I had a few girlfriends before not that they ever went beyond holding hands or sharing umbrellas home from school. I pulled away from her and placed a bit of distance as if burned. Why the hell did she do that? the shopkeeper noticed his customer give his older female companion a weird look when she got closer to him.
200 pieces of silver.... I thought of Ren, Motoyasu, and Itsuki all had at least three people with them, so their expenses were sure to be that much higher and they only had 600 silvers too.
Why was I whining?
".....Fine then, old man. You've got yourself a deal."
"Thanks boy. You seem like quite the Hero already."
"hmmm, Since Myne is my friend I need to place trust in her judgment, that's all." I convinced myself of that, Besides Itsuki, Ren and Motoyasu Myne was the only other ally I had here.
Not that I woudlnt admit to wamring up to Myne, I bet Nii-san would be head over heels for her.
"It's weird, the only other pepole I have right now to depend on are the other 3 and Myne... I'm freaking out here" I confess this to the shop owner.
