Skye quickly changed into the uniform and started wondering why they would want her to wear this, of course it wasn’t hard to guess based off what Selina had told her. They needed her to be lookout while they stole something, which meant she needed to look the part of a villain. Scarecrow came back in three minutes later just like he’d said and blindfolded her until they got to a van.

“Jonathan where’s her mask?” Riddler frowned.

            “I must’ve forgot it.”

Riddler let out an irritated sigh. “This is why I work alone… idiots.”

“Hey!” Multiple grumbles arose from the villains around them.

“Ivy can you get it? It should be in the closet.”

Poison Ivy glared at him and made sure to push him forcefully out of the way before getting out of the van. Skye looked around and began to notice that Catwoman was missing, that didn’t make her feel better, and Selina was the one she could trust most if she could trust any of them.

“Wh- where’s Catwoman?” Skye asked hesitantly.

“Oh I think she’s having fun in one of Riddler’s challenge rooms.” Two-face replied in what was probably a smirk.

That made Skye feel worse; Ivy came back with the mask and Skye put it on obediently. The van jerked forward as Joker started driving off and Bane cursed as Harley stumbled into him but decided against starting a fight, in such close quarters that would be very unwise.

“When we get there you will respond only to the name Crow do you understand?” Riddler told Skye.

            “What if I don’t?”

“We’ll torture you… or if Joker’s boss allows it, kill you.”

“Another thing.” Scarecrow spoke up. “When Batman and Robin show up you will act like you know what you’re doing and fight them if they attack you. Otherwise stay where you are.”

“After this is over you’re going to kill me aren’t you…?” Skye looked down at the floor.

            “Yes.” Bane replied. “We will.”

The ride was silent after that, Skye had always had a small glimmer of hope she would be rescued but now it seemed hopeless, they would get what they wanted and she would just be killed. If there weren’t so many of them with her in the van Skye would attack them right now. There was another jerk ten minutes later and Joker came around to open the back door.

            “Hurry up!” He ordered.

They pushed Skye out first and she stumbled slightly before being guided to a dark corner, she could see almost the entire warehouse without being seen from there.

“Remember move and you die.” Bane growled.

“One minute you say you’ll kill me the next you say your ‘boss’ won’t let you.” Skye sneered as she forgot about whom she was dealing with.

Bane kicked her legs out from under her and Skye crashed to the ground. “If we succeed then it doesn’t matter if you live. We just needed you to keep Batman away.”

They ran off but Two-face stayed nearby to keep an eye on her, people working in the warehouse began to scream and gun shots could be heard along with the sound of things being broken. Police sirens began to wail outside and Skye heard Two-face flip a coin before aiming his gun at the door.

            “Remember if you don-”

“I’ll die. Yeah, don’t remind me.”

Police broke in with their guns raised and Two-face started to shoot them down, Gordon made his way inside and shot back at him. He managed to hit Two-face in the shoulder before taking aim at Skye.

“I didn’t know you recruited a new lunatic Harvey.” Gordon commented. “What’s her name?”

Two-face gave her a pointed look and Skye gulped. “I-I’m Crow…”

“Not very confident. If you don’t attack maybe the judge will go easy on you.”

Skye was about to surrender but the roof between Gordon and her collapsed, when the dust cleared Batman stood there with Robin by his side. Two-face grabbed her during the brief confusion and dragged her to where the others were looking for the last part to the machine.

“Guys they’re here.” Two-face informed the others as they looked towards them.

“So you led them here?” Scarecrow shouted. “Idiot!”

“I agree with Crane, your decision was idiotic.” Riddler growled. “I’m out of here. This wasn’t my job to begin with.”

Riddler ran out followed by Poison Ivy and Two-face soon after, Skye tried to get away while the remaining villains were trying to reorganize themselves but was caught by Joker. Batman and Robin ran in and started attacking Bane since he was the closest, Scarecrow got his toxin ready to spray at them and Bane went down in a screaming heap, the two vigilantes however just backed off and attacked him instead.

“Crow attack!” Joker commanded as he pushed her forward.

Harley ran over with her hammer and knocked Robin across the room. “What’s wrong Little Bird? Break your wings?”

Batman glanced at his partner but returned his focus on Crow and Joker. “Give up now. You’ll lose just like you have before.”

“Not this time Batty.” Joker laughed.

Skye yelped in shock as Batman attacked her, she used the simple self-defense moves Dick had taught her to block, he easily got passed her defense and was about to knock her out when she took off the mask.

“Skye…” He whispered in shock. “You’re with them?”

“Help.” Skye pleaded before Joker managed to get Batman away from her.

The Clown Prince and Batman continued to fight while Robin had managed to get Harley knocked out and handcuffed. He saw Skye and his eyes widened in shock, she started to run over to him but didn’t notice Joker line himself up between Batman and herself. Joker waited until Batman threw the batarang and let out an insane cackle before dodging it, Skye noticed the sharp object flying towards her and tried to get out of the way but it was too late. Robin let out a scream of anger and grief as it entered her skull and she collapsed to the ground.

“Looks like you did my job for me!” Joker laughed. “To think Bats you said you would never kill. Well you just did, and she was an innocent person.”

Joker kept laughing but it ended in a strangled sound and Batman grabbed him by the throat. “Her death is on you not me!”

            “Oh just like Rachel Dawes?”

Batman punched him unconscious, he wished he could kill him, the clown deserved it, but if he did then he wouldn’t be any better than the scum that he went out to fight every night. Gordon came over and handcuffed him before leaving the two heroes to mourn. Batman walked over to where Skye was lying on the ground in a growing pool of blood, Robin glanced up at him sadly and shook his head.

“She’s gone… but I don’t think she felt any pain. The wou-”

“I know what the wound means.” Batman sighed. “Help me get her home… we have a funeral to arrange.”
