“We are going to make Joker pay for this right?” Dick asked for the millionth time. “He killed Skye!”

“No, I won’t stoop to Joker’s level, and I won’t let you ether.” Bruce told him tiredly.

Dick looked back at Skye’s freshly dug grave then back at Bruce. “Don’t tell me that crap. I’ll punish him like he deserves, then I’ll go after the others.”

“Dick come back!” Bruce called as his adopted son started walking back to where Alfred was waiting in the car. “You can’t just go off on your own.”

“Watch me! By tomorrow I won’t be at the manor. I’ll find my own place to stay!”

Bruce watched him go, how could his life crumble so quickly? First his parents, then a few years ago Rachel was killed and Harvey injured and sent into insanity, now his daughter was dead and now his son and partner was running away. He looked down once more and wiped away a tear before following Dick to the car, he had failed to keep Skye safe and now she had paid the price with her life while he was left with another death to add onto the guilt he already felt for countless other lives that had been lost.

Scarecrow was making a new toxin when he heard his cell phone go off, he looked at it in confusion before picking it up. “Hello?”

“Jonathan, good your not in Arkham. I was wondering if you could do me a little favor?”

“Ra’s I don’t work for you anymore. Get Joker to help.”

“He went too far. I told him no innocent was to die; The League of Shadows isn’t about killing children we are about purifying corrupt cities and restarting them. Skye wasn’t corrupted yet. Also Joker has been sent to Arkham.”

“Why do you care about Wayne’s daughter? She’s gone nothing you can do will change that.”

“That you know about. Her funeral was earlier today; I want you to go unbury her tonight and bring her body to me.”

Scarecrow started to laugh. “You’re joking right? That’s just… strange? For lack of better words at the moment.”

“I don’t joke. In fact I changed my mind. I’ll send some of my men to pick her up from your place later.”

“Whoa! Wait, I’m not keeping a corpse in my place!”

“I thought you liked creepy things?” Ra’s was silent for a moment. “If you do this I’ll give you a partner to help you out.”

            “I don’t need a partner.”

“You do. Your not immortal, after you die you’ll be forgotten. But if you have someone to take your place then you’ll live forever as a legend.”

The line went dead and Scarecrow started a sting of curses before quickly thinking it over. That night he drove to the graveyard with a shovel, he found the grave and started digging, by the time he finished and reburied the coffin it was almost dawn. Scarecrow drove home and found two men waiting inside his hideout.

“Ra’s sent you right? Well Skye’s in the car… oh and make sure to tell Ra’s he better stick to his word. I hate being disturbed from my work and wasting my time.”

“Don’t worry. He said you should be expecting help from within a few years.” The taller one said.

They took Skye’s body back to Ra’s al Ghul and stood by the pit as Ra’s put her in. “Are you sure this will work?”

“Of course. The pit is said to bring people back from the edge of death and prolong lives. Perhaps it can also bring people back.”
