Detective Malik (Z.M Fanfic)

Chapter 7.

*Liams Flat; 12:30pm*

I knock on the dark wooden door. After a few minutes a man around our age opens the door.

"Yes?" He questions with a polite smile.

"Yes hello, I am detective Malik, and this is my assistant Louis Tomlinson, are you Mr. Payne?"

"Yes I am him, what is this about exactly?"

"We're investigating the black manor case..."

Liam looks at us for a moment then looks around quickly. "Okay come in."

Louis and I walk into his flat and find ourselves standing in the middle of his living room.

"Your the new detectives?" He asks then motions us to take a seat on his couch.

"Yes." I say taking a seat with Louis following my lead. "We have a few questions to ask you if you don't mind."

"No it's fine, I don't mind." He says taking a seat opposite from us.

"Okay Mr.Payne.."

"Liam, you can call me Liam." He politely says and I nod.

"Okay Liam, well we've read all of your articles here about the black manor, and we pretty much need your help aiding us."

He chuckles. "This is the first time anyone has ever asked for my help."

"Really?" Louis says with his eyebrows rising. Liam nods.

"So what do you need my help for?"

"Well.." I look over to Louis then back at Liam. "Everything you know."

"Okay then, well you better get comfortable because this may take awhile." He smiles.

For the next hour and a half Liam talks about the history of the manor. The styles family, and the family before them who owned it. While he talked about the styles family for a bit, he stopped immediately, leaving me with a questionable vibe. He doesn't talk much about the killer.

"Thank you so much Liam, you have really aid us with our knowledge of the manor."

"Of course I'm glad to help." He smiles warmly.

"Now, about the styles family." Suddenly Liam's smile goes down to a frown. "Can you tell us more about them?"

"I.. Uh.. Don't know if I can really.."

"Something bothering you?"

"I.. Um.. No.."

"Liam you can trust us you know, we're here to help in anyway possible."

He looks at the ground but slowly his eyes travel up to us. He seems to be thinking about something.

"I can't.. I've said too much." He bites his lip. "I'm sorry.."

"Is someone threatening you Liam?" He stays silent.

"Liam."

"I think you better go.. It's getting late." He says. Looking down at the floor.

Louis and I get up from his couch and walk towards the door with Liam following us close behind.

"Well.. We really appreciate all the help Liam." Louis says.

"No problem." He says with a distraught look.

"I'll be waiting in the car Zayn."

"Okay Louis, I'll right there." I say as he walks away.

"I really appreciate all the knowledge you given us on the black manor Liam, you may have helped me with the case." I smile, he smiles back and looks to the floor in deep thought. "Well.. Uh.. See you later, just give us a call, if you need to tell us anything more important." He nods, but says nothing. "Okay." I say and turn around about to walk away.
