The whole night Magnus laid on his bed thinking about the long day. Sometimes thinking about Zoralle and sometimes thinking about the Rebulous. The rumours about the girl Magnus fought with and freed spread quickly like a wild fire. He then remembered the Rebulous that was so powerful, it would be so great to have it. He knew his father would manage the political business about King Joan but something about it didn't feel right. He wondered how people lived in Worian with that cruel king and the depressing looking surroundings there. He thought about his daughter Princess Rosa Terry. When he would look at her he always felt like running away or hiding somewhere. Magnus abhorred them both and so did his dad.

The next day came and went with usual political issues with Rebulous. Magnus had also wanted to ask his dad about something....about the slaves. Not just Zoralle and her family but all the slaves must be suffering the same. His dad just always looked so wise so why didn't he take an action towards the slaves.

'Dad, you know I freed that slave...' Magnus trailed off.

'Yes, it was wise decision my son.' 'Xander said like he thought Magnus doubted what he had done.

'Yeah, but then why didn't you ever like made an action to stop slavery?'

'That, I was force too.' 'Xander replied and Magnus didn't look satisfied. 'Xander sighted. 'Look, you will know when the time comes.'

'I have sworn affidavit that I won't break any law and not a king himself not freeing a slave is a law. The king can't break any rules. If he did then the crown would be taken away from him. Law is a law. I know some laws are not wise but the majority are, so we should accept it.'

He didn't knew what his dad meant by some. They were more laws that were unjust. The more he thought about it the more he didn't want to be a king.

Ren was gone too. He hadn't come back to meet him for weeks. Ren must have thought that Magnus was mad at him but Magnus forgave him since the day he met Zoralle in the house. Actually Magnus knew that he owned an apology to Ren.

After few days Magnus had to go on a meeting with his dad and apparently King Joan Terry was coming as well. Magnus came near his father and was walking by his side. His dad was in such a position that Magnus already felt nervous. He had been to too many meetings but they were really rare times with King Joan. This meeting especially, King Joan was going to be really angry. There were guards in the corridor that were really stiff compared to usual days. Only Magnus and his dad's footsteps could be heard on the light marble floor as they switched corridors and came to a big hall. 'Xander lifted his chin slightly and smiled at Joan. Joan didn't smile back and in fact he came near them. His face was so serious and old that Magnus couldn't help thinking how someone can ever look like that. He had a line cutting through his eyebrows and he looked directly at Magnus made him more nervous.

'Good to see you, King Joan Terry. I would really appreciate if you would come in the meeting hall and discuss our plans.'

It looked like his lips were glued together because he didn't say anything. Magnus walked in the hall, all the chairs were in a circle, the chairs looked wooden and more elaborated than ever. The two kings sat at the opposite sides and Magnus sat next to his dad where he was suppose to be. They all waited for everyone to be seated. He could see familiar faces like Joan's assistant, his dad's assistant and people that were really special including Kuinko. Princess Rosa was nowhere to be seen and that made Magnus more relaxed. Even though he hasn't seen her for almost seven years, he knew that Rosa would exactly be like her dad like she was seven years ago.

'Look, the straight thing is that the Debelous is DESTROYED!' Joan started and the last word seemed to echo in the silent hall. 'I can challenge a war for this.'

'War for what reason,' 'Xander said his voice calm but there was hint of worry in there.

'War because you people have destroyed my Debelous and made your Rebulous. The law completely states that we are not suppose to plan anything against each other. However, you did.'

'THAT'S NOT TRUE!' Magnus yelled, standing up. His dad eyed him but he knew he couldn't stop himself from saying what he did. This was not fair, Joan was putting a clearly false blame on them.

'Sorry for my son's interruption but his meaning was somewhat clear. I can assure you and can swear that we haven't planned anything against you.'

'I am sorry but if you planned against me then I know that you wouldn't stupid enough to say the truth. You want to be powerful and so you destroyed by Debelous and a war can be a straight answer to show you that no one can challenge us. We were, we are and we will always be the most powerful ones.' Joan declared. It seemed like he could find the smallest mistake made by them to start a war. Like seriously? They were planning against him. The meeting went for a long time and Joan kept coming on a same topic about the war. Magnus didn't know what was going to happen but there was a thing that kept annoying him. Why did his dad put up with Joan so much? The meeting was soon over and there was something unusual the way Joan always looked at Magnus. Magnus thought it was probably because of the way he was against Joan.

'Why don't you say something to him? You are a king too. You have equal right too. Why do you put up with him?' Magnus asked when they were alone.

'Magnus, I hate him more than you. But as much as I hate to admit it he has more soldiers, wizards and weapons than us. He would win a war. For the peace of Dorian we must put up with him.'

'How long?' Magnus stopped walking and didn't really want to hear the answer.

'Until we or Joan dies.' 'Xander said and there was a complete silence like his dad was thinking something.

'Joan will come again, but I want you to be away. I have invited Ren and you can spend time with him.' That was when Magnus was surprised. His dad always wanted him to think like a king and now when he was starting to think like a king 'Xander was sending him away...

'Are you sure?'

'You have learned enough and I will manage Joan by myself.'

Well, Magnus did want to meet Ren and tell him that he wasn't mad at him. He wanted to tell him about Zoralle and maybe, meet Zoralle and look at how she was going. He will free more slaves as soon as he can before he becomes a king.
