The Escape That Went Bonkers
There, in front of Lacey, stood a dark figure, with a black bandana covering her mouth. The woman moved in closer, her light blonde hair stuck at the back in a ponytail. "Lacey Moore," smiled the woman, her raspy voice echoing through Lacey's head."Who... who are you? And why does everybody here know my name?!?" Lacey's voice escaped with a high pitched squeak. "You are this lands saviour perhaps?" The woman bowed on one knee, and looked straight at Lacey.
"You don't have much time. I'll have to escort you. The flash is a very important part of this mission and, oh, I forgot to introduce myself. Katherine Ronicale. I come from here, but-" the other woman cleared her throat, interrupting Katherine.
"I'm sorry, but I think I came here to escort the girl first?"
Katherine now noticed the woman sitting next to Lacey. "Ah, yes. Your the woman who screamed louder than a dying whale. But I have come on orders of Melismas Kayanel..." Katherine looked at the woman.
"Let's leave it up to the girl to decide," the woman now stared at Lacey, who was eying both of them wide-eyed. Who should she trust? Who should she attack?
A new feeling entered Lacey. Trust, courage, and heart. She glanced at the two women. And then, something hit her like a brick. Look in the eyes. The story lies in the eyes.
Lacey stared at Katherine There was something important in her eyes. It was fear, and there was a whole lot of it. Katherine had truth, sadness and rage. Lacey looked at the kneeling Katherine, the young Katherine, the begging Katherine.
Then, she turned to the other woman, who was staring at Katherine with pure rage. Her eyes were filled with hatred and anger. Violence was her intentions. I'm not from around here, the woman's words entered Lacey's head.
Yes, you aren't. Lacey got up and walked over to Katherine. I trust you," she said. The other woman roared, her scream filled with rage. Katherine had joy inside her, but it soon deflated as the other woman picked up a nearby chair and launched it at her.
Lacey pushed it away, the chair just grazing her hand, causing blood to slowly fall, leaving a path of red wherever she walked. "Yes, you were absolutely correct. Your choice is like a hero... too bad you won't be able to get the praise!" The woman sneered, trying to find something in her pockets.
"Looking for something?" Katherine waved a pocketknife, her mouth curving into a smile. The woman growled and lunged at Katherine. Lacey glanced at the door, then back at Katherine. No, she couldn't leave her new friend.
Lacey hauled up a lamp with great effort and threw it at the woman. Lacey still didn't know WHO she was, but the woman seemed to have gotten hurt. "Oh my head!" The woman wailed, clutching her head. She felt a huge bump, and sank down to her knees in pain, crying out in agony.
Katherine helped Lacey up and ran off. "You okay?" Kaylee panted as they walked down the city. Lacey nodded, just a little shy. Her hand was throbbing with pain, but she didn't want to show it.
What Lacey didn't notice were Katherine's sharp blue eyes. "Oh no! Your bleeding!" she gasped. She took out a leaf from her bag and stuck it on Lacey's hand. "For healing," Katherine smiled.
"And from my city," she added. Lacey looked at Katherine's sweet eyes, questions filling her mind. Katherine bound a grey cloth around Lacey's hand and started walking. People walked here and there, staring at Lacey.
There are no kids in this city, Lacey remarked. Suddenly, a market door opened, and a huge crowd burst out of their houses, running. What's all the commotion? Lacey asked herself.
But before she could wonder, she was swept into the huge crowd, away from Katherine. "LACE!" Katherine yelled, not trying to say the full name just in case people heard. Lacey turned, trying to find Katherine.
She closed her eyes, swept away from the real world, knowledge to nothing, and lastly, away from Katherine.
