Katrina was at school one day just minding her own business. She was in her first hour class, which was choir, when she heard the announcements go off

"May I have your attention," the speaker said "We will be have a varsity football game against the Saints tonight at 6. Good luck Bulldogs and play hard."

Katrina immediately pulled out her phone to call her mother.

"Hello?"

"Hey mom, there's a game tonight. Could I go to Aubrey's house after volleyball practice and have Bethany take us both back to the school to watch?"

"Sure. You can stay the weekend there too if you'd like,"

"Uh yeah I want to"

"Well good because you were going to anyway."

After Katrina became friends with Aubrey, their mom's became friends also. They talk and text all of time and make plans for their daughter's to hang out almost every weekend.

"So you and Bethany have been talking?" Katrina asks.

"Yeah. I was talking to her about getting some bacon from them when their pigs are grown."

The Cantwell family have had pets the whole time Katrina's known them. They have 5 chickens, 3 rabbits, 8 cats, and a parrot. Pretty soon they are getting pigs to use for meat.

"Okay Kat, I need to go back to work. I only get so much time to talk on the phone."

"Alright. Bye mom. Thank you."

School was starting and Katrina had to sit through the rest of the long boring day until her favorite part. Volleyball practice.

Le time skip

Lunch time finally came for the middle schoolers and it was the only time she got to talk to Aubrey during the day, considering they don't get to talk in class. They sat next to each other and talked about everything that had happened so far in the day. They talked about how Katrina was coming over at the end of the day and how their football team was going to play a tough game tonight. And then they reached the serious topics. Boys.

Katrina had never really dropped her crush on Zach but she pushed it away. She didn't swoon when he talked to her and she didn't go out of her way to pass him in the halls. There was just a little spark of hope that he would fall for her.

She never stopped liking him but Aubrey began to. Aubrey would talk about him all of the time. She would talk about how he pretended to be stupid in class but he was actually pretty smart. She talked about the way he would talk to his friends and start to laugh about something somebody said. She talked about the way he acted when he got an answer right on his math paper, and how his smile would just light up the room. She loved his smile. Oh, his smile, Katrina thought.

"Kat!"

"Kat!" she heard as she got slapped in the back of the head.

"Oww, what was that for?"

"You dozed off," Aubrey said. "What were you thinking about?"

"Nothing, it's just that-" Katrina got cut off as the bell rang, signaling it was time to go to class.

Katrina was going to tell her she still liked Zach. She just never really got the chance. She told herself she just never got the chance but in all actuality, she was scared.

The two friends split off and went to their 6th hour class. Pretty soon, Katrina's favorite time of the day would come. Volleyball practice.

Hey guys. So this is my first official chapter. Yay. I have this whole story planned out because the main events are based of off my life from 2016-2019 and it's not that hard to remember. I should be able to update every day and if I don't, I'm sorry. I don't think I'll have many readers for the first couple of weeks or so but who knows. Anyway, I'm going to go to bed now. Happy reading
