Forever and Always

Chapter Nine

Katrina's Pov

I could see the boys walking this way. Well, I couldn't really see them because it was already dark but I could see their silhouettes. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven of them," I counted to myself.

"They're walking very confidently." Aubrey said  with a hint of nervousness in her voice.

"They must have something important to say," Kylie said.

"Well yeah," I snapped back at her. "Our calls probably interrupted their Fortnite tournament or something."

The boys were approaching quickly and pretty soon they were right in front of us.

"Hey!" Zach said very sternly. "You been calling us?"

"What?" I said back, trying to play dumb. "No"

"We've been getting calls from this random person and we're 100% sure it's you," Zach said

Jackson pulled out his phone and showed us his recent calls. And low and behold, my phone number was the most recent one on there.

"Sam says this is your phone number."

"Nope, not mine." I said.

"Then I guess you won't mind if we call it then," Jackson said, pretty sure that he had caught us.

The thing is, we knew this would happen so I made sure to turn my phone on silent and change Jackson's name in my phone to "Uncle Dan" so if he called, I could play it off like my uncle was calling.

Surprisingly, my phone didn't even vibrate in my pocket.

"What the heck!" Sam said, dumbfounded. He pulled out his phone and showed everybody my contact in his phone.

"The number he just called, is the exact same number as yours is in my phone." Sam said.

"Well yeah," I said improvising. "That was my old number. When I got my new phone, I got a new number. They must've gave my old one to somebody else and that's who called you."

"Oh okay. Sure." Zach said.

"Hey Katrina!" I heard my mom shout.

"Yeah?" I answered

"Where's your brother at? Do you know?" Mom said

"Yeah. He's in the basement with Rose." I answered.

Rose is my older sister and she was with her friends in my grandma's basement next door. That basement isn't creepy though. There's a cable tv and some bunk beds, along with a couch and two recliners. It's actually pretty nice.

"Alright thanks." Mom said and walked away.

I turned back around to see Kylie and Aubrey talking with a couple of the boys about who knows what, when my dog came running up to me.

"Hey baby!" I said in a child voice. "How ya doing Cocoa?" I asked while petting her.

"Cocoa, come here!" Jackson said.

"Aww, really?" I said to Jackson. "Do you have to take my own dog away from me?"

"Yeah," he said. "It felt necessary"

"It doesn't matter," I said to him. "She would protect me if something happened. And not you." I said, trying to be kinda flirty.

"I don't know about that," he said back. "She really loves me."

"Oh okay. Sure" I answered back.

"Hey Aubrey," I heard Zach say. "Have you ever heard of a truck?"

Us girls were confused but the rest of the boys seemed to know what was going on, considering they all had smug looks on their faces.

"Not like a 'vroom vroom' truck but the other kind?" Zach said.

"No, I don't think I have," Aubrey said. Well apparently that was the wrong answer because right after that, Zach rammed into her as hard as he could and she fell on to the wet ground.

Everybody bursted out laughing, even Aubrey.

"That's what a truck is," Zach said very happily.

"Here," I said while sticking my hand out to help Aubrey.

"Thanks" She said while dusting herself off.

"I have an idea," Zach said. "How about, we all go back to our house," he hesitated for dramatic affect, "and we can prank call a bunch of random people together."

"Sounds like a good idea to me." Aubrey said.

"I'm down" Kylie said.

"Me too." I said. "Let's go."

And so we left my backyard and started on our way down to my cousins house. And the whole way there (which is like, a 2 minute walk) I tried to ease my way next to Jackson, but I didn't make it obvious of course.

It would turn out, I did.

Ohmygosh it's been so long since I've updated but here you go. This is more like a filler chapter and these next few probably will be too. It may not seem like a key point in the story and it really isn't but it was a really fun time irl. Have a good day/night/morning and Happy Reading.
