Chapter 3

Sorry for not posting this as soon as I had hoped. School has made me WAY more busy than I expected. I hope you enjoy and sorry for the long wait.

Sky walked back into camp, she needed to think of something quick. She went into the camp and went into the nursery. No one was there so she used her claws to dig a giant hole in the back of the den. She walked out and screeched, "My kits are gone!" Lots of cats gasped and others just stood there in shock. "Let me see." said Owlstar, the leader of AshClan. "Oh my," he said,"There appears to be a giant hole in the den!" "It must have been a fox!" Oceanpaw exclaimed "You're probably right, I'm going to send out one patrol to look for the kits." Owlstar picked out a few cats and they went off. Owlstar turned and looked at Sky, "For now you can sit in the warriors den and wait." "Alright" Sky mumbled trying to sound miserable.

Sky sat down in a nest towards the back of the den I cant believe it worked! she thought. Sky had plans to sneak out of the camp at night and leave forever and everything was going as it should. The patrol arrived shortly after, "We couldnt find anything." Fadefoot said. "Oh ok, well..." Sky replied. "I'm sorry" Fadefoot said bowing his head. "No need" Sky told him

Nothing else happened the rest of the day, a few cats told Sky that they were sorry for her loss and she just shrugged it off. When all of the cats were asleep Sky walked out of the warriors den carefully trying not to trip over anyone. The guard was asleep again! AshClan isn't really good at this guarding thing Sky thought. She walked out of camp and past the Thunderpath and into the unknown forest.

Hopekit and her siblings were bouncing up and down with excitement. They would become apprentices today! Hopekit already knew that she was going to be a medicine cat apprentice because she asked Cloudheart and she said yes. Her two brothers, Toadkit and Rockkit were discussing who they hoped their mentor would be."Can we go out yet?" Hopekit pleaded to her mother. Rosesplash replied, "Not untill Deadstar calls you." "Awwwww, but I want to go now!!" Hopekit insisted "Patients, you'll be going out there before you know it." Hawkfeather said. Hawkfeather's kits were supposed to come any day now.

"All cats old enough to catch prey please come for a clan meeting!" Deadstar called. The three kits walked out trying to keep calm. "Look at how many cats there are!" Hopekit whispered to Toadkit as the clan was coming out of their dens. "Today is a very special day, for Hopekit, Toadkit, and Rockkit have all reached there 6th moon" Deadstar announced, he turned to Hopekit. "Hopekit, do you promise to follow the Warrior Code with your life, and train your hardest?" "I do!" Hopoekit replied. "Then your mentor will be Cloudheart, and your name will be Hopepaw untill you receive your full medicine cat name."
