February 14, 2019. Morning.
Loki awoke with a start.
Was it all a nightmare?
He then realized he was in the patient ward of the Med Centre.
What was he doing in here?
As he slightly shifted his body in bed, he soon became aware that an area of his chest felt sore. He was able to breathe properly, but it felt like he had somehow sustained a bruise.
He also felt fatigued.
Worry began to set in as he attempted to figure out what happened. All he remembered was...
His breath caught in his throat, and his eyes went wide.
"Bever-" he was about to call out, then stopped.
There she was, sitting in a chair beside his bed, holding his hand, with her upper body fast asleep on the mattress.
Beverlee.
It was the sweetest thing to wake up to, and it put a smile on his face.
Should I wake her?
After some thought, he felt it would be more beneficial - for both of them - if he did.
Stroking her hair, he whispered, "Beverlee? Wake up."
Beverlee stirred for a moment, then looked up to see her dear friend awake.
"LOKI!" she cried out with elation. She stood up, and threw her arms around him, "you're all right!" then kissed him on the cheek.
"And I'm so glad you're here," Loki said softly, his arms coming around her, "what happened?" he asked.
"A complex procedure was performed on you... to save your life," she replied, "the procedure went well, but recovery was hard on you, due to your Frost Giant physiology." She clutched him closer, "you suffered so much."
"Well, I don't appear to be suffering now," Loki said softly, stroking her back, "asides from the medical staff, I'm sure you also took very good care of me."
"It's nothing you wouldn't have done for me," Beverlee blushed, her hand moving up to stroke his hair, "and have."
He released the embrace a bit, and looked at her closely, "how long have I been in here?"
"About a week," Beverlee replied, "you were admitted immediately after you had an awful nightmare that caused you to sleepwalk," she looked at him with a sympathetic smile, "there was an incident..."
What? Oh no. Did that actually happen?!
"What did I do?" he said worriedly, "I didn't hurt anyone, did I?"
"No," Beverlee said reassuringly, "you messed up your quarters pretty badly though, then found a way to exit them," she looked at Loki sheepishly, "security found you attacking a... vending machine," she put a gentle hand on his face, and with a wry smile added, "you, of course, were victorious... and the agents appreciated the spoils."
"Glad I was able to raise morale," Loki said, breathing a huge sigh of relief, "it would have killed me if I had hurt someone," he gave Beverlee a small smile, "it appears I've lost track of time. What day is it?"
"Valentine's Day," Beverlee replied, looking at him with affection, "but it appears we're going to have to reschedule our plans, as you still need a few more days to recover."
"I'm terribly sorry," Loki said, looking at her longingly, "I was so looking forward to taking you out ice skating and then for supper."
I hope I remembered that correctly...
