(8) 2nd Place??

The weekend after Valentine's was a winter competition for Cheer Ltd. She put together the best routine she could for the competition. She went out on the floor it was the full squad Varsity and JV which wasn't what she was use to for the other ones. She just prayed that the younger girls didn't screw it up. 

They went out on the floor and their song "It Takes Two" started up. She was just hoping everything looked good cause she couldn't see behind her as they did their routine. Bucky said "What the hell our squad isn't that big." 

"Oh Natasha said that because this comp is for Cheer Ltd. that Coach Tucker combined the JV and Varsity and that Kamryn was nervous cause she was afraid the jv was going screw it up." Steve said 

Then once the competition was over they started to go over the results. "And in 2nd place we have Carter High Thunderbolts." the announcer said 

Kamryn faked a smile as they took the trophy Steve looked at the smirk on Bucky's face and he said "Buck.. this one wasn't fair the JV missed steps that's not her fault." 

"But she didn't place first she had to place first. She lost." Bucky said 

Kamryn got on the bus and sat in the back Bucky didn't see her in the front seat then he saw her in the back. She had her head down hiding tears cause she tried to tell the coach that it was a bad idea. Bucky sat down beside her and she looked up and said "Come to gloat. Cause if you did then you can go sit some where else" 

He swallowed hard then he heard Steve's words in his head "This wasn't fair the JV screwed it up." 

"Kamryn I won't count this one cause JV messed it up but you won't get a free pass at the next one." he said 

That night she started to put together a new routine for the upcoming competition that was in two weeks. Brooks heard the music in her room and came down after he heard about what happened at the competition. He hugged her and said "baby it's okay 2nd place is still good." 

"Yeah." she said 

Two weeks later they were at another competition and they did their cheer routine to "Pump Up The Jam" then did their dance routine to "Ice Ice Baby." After the competition was over they placed 2nd place again in both categories. They got on the bus and he said "You aren't getting a free pass this time you lost and now all I have to do is when State next weekend and I kept my end baby." 

She rolled her eyes and said "Whatever." 

"So grouchy what's the matter baby. I think you are losing your touch." he whispered in her ear then made her look at him. "You are losing it baby cause you are sexually frustrated and I took your toy away and I bet you have tried these tiny fingers haven't you." as their foreheads were together. 

"Bucky stop." she said 

He chuckled and said "Getting to you baby." 

"Just leave me alone." she said 

That night she cried herself to sleep and on Monday morning she didn't show up at school. Bucky looked for her then he didn't see her red mustang in the parking lot. "Hey Nat where is Boss at ?'Bucky said 

"She isn't coming today. She said that she didn't feel good." Natasha said 

"Oh I'm sure she just didn't want to show her face after placing 2nd place twice now." he said as he walked away.
