(12) A New Wager

-5 months later-

It was during their senior year it was homecoming night and UNC scout came to watch her cheer and another came to watch him play. They both spoke with their scouts UNC was Kamryn's dream school where her parents went. After they spoke with them and they were at the dance and he said "Baby we need to pick one college." 

"But I already know where I want to go." she said 

"I know that but how about this baby.. If I take the football team to state we go to UGA if I don't win state we got to UNC." he said 

"Bucky baby you are not doing this again." she said 

"It's just me that has to do something not you." he said 

She kissed him and said "Don't take state baby." 

"Oh now I want to baby cause you don't want me to win." he said as she kissed her. 

The morning of the state game she was in her bathroom puking and said "Oh god not the flu again." 

She stopped and got herself a sprite and some gum. She pulled up and parked in her spot then she opened the door and started to puke again. Bucky got out of his truck cam running over when he saw her puking. "Baby what's wrong you are throwing up." he said 

"I don't know I've been puking since I got up this morning. I don't think it's the flu." she said as he felt her head. 

"Okay um baby follow me to my house I'll take you to the doctor." he said 

They drove their cars to his house then he went to the doctor's office his mom works at and said "Hey mom." 

"James what are you doing here sweetie." Winnie said

"Mom Kamryn is sick she's been puking since she got up is what she said." Bucky said 

She took one look at Kamryn and said "Okay take her to the ER baby I'll meet you over there." 

"Okay." Bucky said 

They walked across the parking lot to the hospital and they started to pump fluids and took some blood since she didn't have a fever. They came in after her blood work came back a few hours later. 

"Okay Ms Barnum it appears that you are pregnant. " the ER doctor said 

"I'm what?" she said 

"You are pregnant so let's get you an ultrasound." the doctor said 

They helped her up on the table and they put the gel on her stomach and said "Let's see what we have going on." 

The tech put the wand on her stomach as she looked up at Bucky and whispered "I'm sorry." 

He leaned down and whispered "Baby I'm not mad.. I think I might of not used a condom during your grace period." 

She looked at him and he said "We had sex on the bus remember." 

"Oh.. yeah I forgot about that." she whispered 

"Okay guys she is 8 and half weeks and due in May." the tech said 

They took the ultrasounds and went to school in his truck. She looked over at him and said "Take state baby." she said 

"You don't want to go to UNC." he said 

"I want to be close to family." she said as she grabbed his hand and interlaced her fingers with his.

"We are having a baby.." he said 

"I hope it's a girl." she said 

"Um no it's going to be a boy." he said 

She rolled her eyes and said "I love you baby but it's going to be a girl." 

"If I win baby we stay here and go to the community college and if you win we got to UGA." he said 

"You like making bets with me don't you." she said 

"I do cause I win everytime baby. I love you..and I love this little peanut right here." he said as he tapped her stomach as they walked up the student parking lot. That night Bucky and the football team won state championship.
