Failed Recruitment

Y/N's pov

Sun: Hey, take it easy man

Me: I'm fine

We walked down the streets of Menagerie while carrying fliers for recruitment, my wound hadn't properly healed but i wasn't going to sit around.

Sun: When i heard about the plan i thought we'd be doing something other than... well this

Me: For once i agree with you

I chuckled before shaking my head slightly, looking up to the sky i was greeted by a sea of blue with occasional clouds.

Sun: I never got to thank you for taking that hit for me, so thanks

Me: Don't mention it... Seriously, don't.

Sun: Why? You have an appearence to keep up or something?

Me: No, other people just might get the idea that i'd do it regularly

I lowered my head as he looked at me confused making me sigh

Me: Everybody gets one

Sun: One favour?

Me: Yep

Sun: But what if i wanted something else?

Me: Are you saying you would rather have me not save you from being stabbed?

Sun:... fair point

Timeskip

I let out a frustrated sigh before throwing the fliers in a bin and kicking said bin, walking past it i went past a store and entered it's shadow.

Walking out of it I heard some talking ahead of me so i turned a corner and saw Saiyaka and Blake?

Blake: Who... is Y/N to you?

Saiyaka: My parents, they aren't alive anymore, but Y/N takes care of me like they used to

Blake: So you want him to be your dad?

Saiyaka shyly nodded making me sigh, i guess Kali was telling the truth. Walking towards them they somehow didn't hear me.

I put my hand on Blake's shoulder making her jump and look back, she sighed when she saw me making me chuckle

Me: How's it going?

Blake: Not... great. Mom called a bit ago and convinced me to take a break

Me: Well it's been the same for me, maybe we could just take a walk togther

Saiyaka: Can i come?

I looked to her and smiled before i patted her head

Me: We wouldn't go without you, right Blake?

Blake: Oh, yeah, of course not

This caused Saiyaka to smile and hop off the bench they were sat on, i offered her my hand so she took it and we all began walking.

I glanced to Blake as she looked to me and i gestured my head to Saiyaka. She offered her hand too and Saiyaka held it as well.

As we walked down the streets i took a look into the sky and saw that it was now a nice shade of orange... how long was i doing that?

We walked past the bin and suddenly the wind blew and one of the fliers came out. It floated in front of Blake so she grabbed it and sighed.

Blake: Maybe this is pointless

She dropped it while looking down making me frown

Saiyaka: You want to stop the bad people right?

Blake: Yeah bu-

Me: Then we should keep going. "All it takes for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing"

Saiyaka: Right!

Blake looked stunned for a moment but raised her head with a small smile, she nodded before Saiyka squeezed our hands.

What we're doing is good and all but... i might have to try something stupid to help speed things along.

Timeskip

Me: Hey now, you have to go to bed

Saiyaka: But i'm not tired...

I sat next to her on her bed and patted her head, her ears twitched before i gently lowered her down.

As i pulled the covers over her she looked to me as i smiled lightly.

Me: How about i tell you a story?

She nodded as i finished pulling up her covers

Me: Once upon a time, there lived a boy. He was a lonely boy and had lost something he loved. Then one day a girl suddenly appeared, they didn't become instant friends but eventually they became close. However something happened which made the girl afraid so she ran away, but the boy  cared too much about her

Saiyaka: What did he do?

Me: He looked for her and eventually he found her, and he told the girl how he felt... aboyt how he loved her. To his shock, she felt the same so together they went home and lived happily ever after...

She yawned as i stood up and turned off her beside lamp, her eyes closed as she began to quickly fall asleep

Saiyaka: Night... dad...

Me:...Good night, Saiyaka

I leaned down and kissed her forehead as she fell asleep, sneaking out her room i closed the door behind me.

Turning around i came face to face with Kali who wore a smirk as she had her hands on her hips

Kali: Not capable of being a parent huh?

Me:... She deserves to have a family, so i'll do my best to be hers

Kali: Well said

Me: Hopefully i'll be able to keep being her family and Blake will open up to being hers too

Kali: I'd like some grandkids y'know

Me: *sigh* Just wait until Blake hears you say that
