I apologize again for the very late chapter everyone.
Warning, there will be details of a fight in this, not very graphic, but it's there.

Y/n POV

After my plane had arrived in Australia, I hailed a taxi to home. I wanted to see my dad, but first I need to comfort my mom. Plus I don't have my phone to ask which hospital he's in.

After arriving at my parents house, I thanked the taxi driver, paid her, and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, the door opened and I was greeted with my mothers worried face. When she saw me she gasped and enveloped me in a hug.

"Y/n! Thank goodness you're here. Your father. He- he-" Mom was cut off when she started to cry. I hugged her back. Rubbing her back occasionally until her cries faded to light sniffles. I let go of her and grabbed her shoulders, giving her a reassuring look.

"Don't worry mom. I'm sure dad will be okay. If you are feeling up to it, could you tell me what happened to him?" I questioned. She nodded slowly and guided me inside. I took off my shoes and followed her into the living room.

My mother had always been a strong, but charismatic woman and I've never seen her shed a tear. Today was the first day I've seen my mother cry and it's reasonable. Dad is in the hospital and I have no idea what happened.

Mom sits down on the couch and I sit next to her, waiting for an explanation. After a few more sniffles, she explains the situation.

"Your father was walking home from work because his car broke down a few days ago and it was still in the shop. As he was walking across a crosswalk on a busy street. There was a car that- that was going down the street. T-The driver was drunk and hit-" Mom breaks down again and a few stray tears run down my face as I turn to comfort her.

Her breathing calms down once again and she tells me the rest, still struggling to get them out. "The d-driver didn't hit your father very hard, he wasn't okay though, but then the driver got out of the c-car. He was really mad f-for some reason and started hitting him. It took a couple minutes, b-but soon the driver was being pulled off of him. T-The driver horribly worsened your father's previous c-condition."

I hugged my mom. She hugged me back and we sat. Waiting for us both to calm down enough to figure out what to do. After mom had stopped shaking, I asked if we should go see him in the hospital. She shook her head.

"No. The doctors told me before he needs more time alone before we can see him." I nodded in understanding.

"Mom. You should go to sleep. It's late already and you need some time to calm down more. If you need anything, I'm going to be in my old room. Okay?"

She nods, heading upstairs to her and dad's shared room. I rake my hand through my hair and sigh. I slip up the stairs, heading to my room. As I pass by mom's door I can hear her crying again. Hopefully, she'll get some rest. I open my old room's door and enter the space. I sit down on the bed and jet lag hits me like a truck.

Exhaustion clouds my vision and weighs down on my already stressed body. I lay down on the bed, succumbing to the beauty called sleep. Before I completely drift into dream land, an odd feeling of forgetfulness strikes. What could I have forgotten that made me feel this horrible? Flashes of memory come to mind, but my tired mind pushes them away, luring my unsuspecting body into unconsciousness.

Welp, since no one has asked questions for the characters yet, I'll just leave it open for a while until there are enough comments.
