Looking at the old man speaking calmly without any anger, Zhu couldn't help but be astonished.
'Reading in the novel and beholding with one's own eyes, there is simply too much difference in people.'

If one had read the book, one must know that to become a powerful sect leader from a poor village boy, the protagonist has simply too many golden fingers, each more powerful then the other. The old man too was one but he was too mysterious. He was mentioned only in one chapter where the protagonist stayed with him for 6 months after the old man saved his life and took him in as a helper. The old man taught him about poison and helped him in his cultivation. The benefit the protagonist got by staying with him for 6 months was more than the ones he got in his entire journey. What was more astonishing was that when the protagonist went away, the old man turned into a young man who blessed him and then vanished saying something like "This is the best I could do in getting a disciple."

Watching the excited Lei promising to do his best to help in the 1 year, Zhu smiled. 'Did Lei just replace the protagonist? Doesn't matter, it's all good. Finally someone deserving is being protected.'

"Then old man, my sister in law can go back?", Lei asked eagerly.

Zhu too turned towards the old man in curiosity.

"Hmm. Didn't I save him too? Do you think you can go away without compensation?", the man stared at Zhu with a raised eyebrow.

"What honorable master wants from me, you can speak freely. I will naturally do my best.", Zhu smiled. 'Must not displease the golden thigh of dear little pig.'

"Oh! Good.", the man smiled," then from today onwards, you shall be my little disciple."

"Naturally Xu Zhu shall do wha... ", Zhu blinked his eye as he looked at the pleased old man. 'What??'

"What? Won't you pay respect to your new master?"

"I... ", Zhu remained shocked for a minute but then hastily bowed ,"Disciple greets Master."

"Hu. Good. Then it's settled. Come with me.", the man then turned to Lei, "You will be in charge of cleaning and meals from now on."

Turning to Zhu, he caught his wrist and dragged him away, leaving behind a shocked Lei. 'When did a helper turned into a butler? Weren't we all supposed to work together in the garden? I want my shiny pink flowers.'

Poor greiving pink pig!

Zhu was still somewhat in shock as he was dragged towards the garden.

"Old man. Weren't you supposed to teach my little pi... brother?"

"Naturally not. You meet my requirement. How can I miss such a good opportunity? You don't have a foundation. Neither do you have any master disciple bond."

"Eh..."

'Are you insulting me or praising me?', Zhu felt a little strange at the thought that the man might be insulting him.

"And this weapon of the Phoenix God. Where did you get it?", the man turned around and looked at the bracelet on his right hand.

"... My friend gave it to me."

"Then the person must be very powerful. You have quite the backer behind you."

"..." What backer? Ain't it the lousy system who hasn't even yet tracked him down?

"Since you have bonded with me, you are my first and only disciple."

"Bonded?"

"Don't you know? You seem dumber than your brother."

"I know what a master disciple bond is. But I didn't feel anything... Master.", Zhu almost shouted as he turned red. A master disciple bond is a bond created between the first master of a disciple and also the disciple must be the first disciple of that master. The book said it was like creating a son dad relationship between disciple and master and was very powerful. It also gave rise to a strong feeling between them.

Zhu was astonished at himself for feeling so embarrassed just because the one calling him stupid was his master or is it because his master is praising Lei over him? Is this what the book said will 'feel different' after creating the master disciple bond?
