The journey to North branch was the most boring time of my life. At first the sceneries kept me occupied but looking at the same trees and grasses for so long was taxing. My cultivation is still not high enough to allow me the joy of flying. But I am just too lucky, I realised. Because I took riding lessons once before when I studied in high school, I could travel by horse.

North Branch is one of many small branches of the Immortal Peaks Sect. But being a major Sect in the Han town made it more suitable than Sand Hall. Each year it takes in about 30 inner disciplines and 100 outer disciplines but only around 5 disciplines really make up all it's good reputation. Others are more or less there as mob characters. So unfair.

This place was actually mentioned in the novel I read. There were 4 characters coming from here. Two sisters, Yang Fen and Yang Ju and two youths named Sun Hai and Cao Lei. Yang Fen and Yang Ju were in future harem of the protagonist while Sun Hai was one of his service brothers always staying in his favour. Cao Lei was a Cannon fodder who challenged Wu Bi and was beaten up and shamed. Poor fellow.

I am wondering about these details while listening to the old man standing before us, giving instructions.

We , the inner disciplines, are given our own individual rooms while the others have to share rooms. Apart from it, the inner disciplines are allowed to enter the main cultivation library while the others are allowed to enter the outer cultivation library only. But being so pathetically short in masters, they have assigned all of us to a single master, Hu Shan. With me are all the 29 other inner disciplines. Resources are really pitiful here.

'If it were my world, these schools would have been long closed .'
