Sephy shook her head and found herself in class obviously not listening once again. Master Lin had warned her about taking things in to help her advance but she hadn't listened to any of that bullshit.
She must've blanked out for quite a while because the teacher was already dismissing the class and everyone had already started packing their belongings away.
"When he said kill someone, I don't think he meant Brandy, though that bitch deserved it" Willie had chewed towards Sephy.
She was more shocked at what he had said than the fact that he had been brave enough to speak to her.
She hadn't seen Brandy the whole time she had been in class, had she killed her?
"She's not dead, dude" Willie answered as if she had asked and she gave him a nod along with a cold stare and he retreated away not wanting to get himself beat up either.
As Sephy rubbed her head she heard a loud clatter and as she glanced up to watch as the room encapsulated them inside.
"Is it just me or is that fucking wall moving inwards?" Maria asked towards Marcus who panicked and checked the exits with his eyes for a way of escape.
Sephy tried to keep her cool but she could feel herself getting more and more worked up. She smashed her arm into Chico who tried to yank the door open with the strength he didn't have.
She squatted to the eye line of the lock and then turned back to the others,
"Anyone good at picking locks?"
Marcus stepped forward pinching the hair grip from between Sephys fingers, he wiggled the metal together and finally the door bursted open.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Sephy groaned noticing that Billy was still stood at the end of the hallway panicking frantically. She sprinted towards him and grabbed his wrist.
The walls were now pushing either sides of their bodies and Sephy was just able to yank herself through the closed gap before the walls met with a hollow echo.
Ahead of them the rest of the student were already in combat with multiple monks and Sephys first instinct was to push Billy behind her back to protect him.
She watched as Saya battled with a monk, taking in each of their steps before sliding upon the floor to kick the monks legs from underneath him. He fell to the floor and she barely had time to pull herself and Billy through the closing door.
Marcus was filled with relief when he noticed that it was Sephy that had made it through the door, especially seen as she also had a tight grip on Billy who looked way out of his comfort zone.
"Shhh" whispered Saya before looking up to the ceiling to notice the gas being blown into the room "fuck" she whispered.
Sephy spun on her heels to look at the door that had closed behind them and indeed printed upon it was a riddle.
"You can hold me in your hand and yet I can fill the entire room. What am I?" Billy read aloud and looked across at Sephy who stared at the paper blankly before shouting,
"A light bulb"
"Find a plant with a light bulb tag" Billy reiterated before coughing into his hands and pulling away to look at the blood splattered in his palm.
"I've got it" shouted Maria.
The students struggled to rush over to her, it was as if they were walking through treacle. Maria passed Sephy the cure first and she swallowed it instantly feeling a breath of fresh air.
As Maria passed Marcus his, Chico snatched it from his hands and ingested it leaving Marcus to cough and fall to the floor, his mouth filling with froth.
"You fucking-" Sephy lunged to hurt him but Marcus' exaggerated breath pulled her back to reality and she held her head begging for it not to black out.
