"Hey." He repeated again .

"Hi Jace." His face turned into a look of surprise at the mention of his name. He soon snapped out of it and regained his usual posture.

" I didn't know you were that interested me babe. Should have just asked, I'd have told you my name." I rolled my eyes at him. He grinned then it changes to a look of confusion.

"What are you doing in school at this time?"

I simply shrugged as if being at school getting to 5pm was absolutely normal.

"I run into your girlfriend." Now he frowned at my words.

"Girlfriend?" I pushed as start hair for my face as I gave him a bored expression.

"Bree? Bree Manchester? You know, the girl who wears skirts so short they should be made illegal?" He chucked quietly then put his thumbs in his pocket.

How does he manage to always look so relaxed everywhere he goes? It makes me want of punch him.

"Yeah. I know her. But I'm not dating her." Now it was my turn to look surprised.

"I'm shocked."

"Why?" I shrugged. I started towards the door again.

"Are you walking home?" A voice interrupted me.

"Yes. Problem?" I asked over my shoulder, not bothering to stop walking.

He ran to catch up with me.

"Let me give you a ride." He offered. I stopped for just a fraction of a second to look at him. He looked sincere.

"No." Was the answer. He looked taken aback. Probably was never rejected before. Well, there's always a first time for everything.

"Let me drive you." He offered again, impatience tinting his voice.

"No."

Jace's POV
"Are you comfortable?" She was sitting beside me with a permanent scowl on her face. We had just pulled out of school in my car.

I grinned at her scowl. Her scowl only deepened. I laughed. The sky roared as rain pelted the window.

"I'm only here with you because I did not want to walk home in this." She gestures to the rain. I shake my head and chuckle.

"You just can't resist me babe." She smiles slightly.

"And you can't resist nicknames." I feign a look of shock. It actually gets her to laugh. I listen to the sound as it fills the car. It strangely, melodic.

I found myself staring at her. And I couldn't stop. Her face was beautiful now that she wasn't scowling. Her green top hugged her body at all the right places. And those jeans. No girl can wear jeans the way she does.

"Umm, stare much?" I snapped my head towards her face. I guess maybe I was staring.

"No, just thinking of a song." I smile then look at her. "Speaking of which..."

I turn on the radio. One of Cardi B's songs are playing. She frowns at the station.

"Ughhh."

"You don't like Cardi B?" She turns herself so she's looking directly at me.

"I don't like her songs. So much cussing." I look at her in surprise. Then I grin at her again as and idea pops into my head.

I turn the radio up.

"Jace!!" I ignore her protests as I start singing along.

"Say little bitch! You can fuck wi—OW!!" She punched my arm. She punched my freaking arm!!

"What the hell?!" It friggin' hurts! I'm using these words cause I'm afraid she might be able to read my thoughts and punch me again.

"It's already bad enough hearing it on the radio but hearing it from someone near me is so much worse."  I glared at her. She glared right back.

"You know you're beautiful when you're angry." My statement  takes her by surprise as her eyebrows shoot up in question.

"Why don't I play a song?" Now it's my turn for my eyebrows to go up.

She mirrors my smirk earlier as she connects her phone to the car. She looks so focused it's so...cute.

"If you're done staring at me, let's listen to the song.

"But what if I like staring at you." She chokes on laughter at my last comment. Adorable.

The speakers soon start blaring "Girl on fire". I groan and throw my head back in mock agony. She just ignores me and sings along. Ouch.

"Hey Lex? I'm sorry." She stops singing to look at me . Her eyes skin over my face, maybe looking for sign that says I'm lying. She gives up then looks at me fully.

"It's fine. And it's Lexi not Lex."

"I'm going to go with Lex." She gives me an incredulous look before rolling her eyes.

"Fine, Pervert." I flinch at her name for me.

"And it's Jace, not Pervert." I state. She simply shrugs and continues to sing along to the song.

I waited for her to really get into the song before I turned the volume down. Thankfully she didn't notice. The sound of her voice soon filled the car. She hit all the notes perfectly. Her voice was so angelic, I could feel myself getting lost in the sound. All too soon the melodious singing stopped.

"Why did you stop singing?" I whined, giving her my best puppy dog look. She lightly chuckled at my actions and I smiled at the fact that I was bake to make her laugh.

"Fine. If you won't sing, I will." I clear my throat noisily. "THIS, GIRL IS ON FIRE!!! THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE-IRE-IRE!!! SHE'S WALKING ON FIRE!!!"

"STOP! No...just...stop." She says in between laughs. By this time tears are running down her cheeks as she howls.

"I've...heard...bad..singing...before. But-but this, this is the worst!!" She starts laughing again.

"Well I never!!" I put my hand over my heart in mock pain. I wait for her to finish laughing and wipe her tears. After five minutes she stops.

"So where to Lex?" She glares at my nickname for her and I respond my sticking out my tongue in a childish manner.

"The gym. Don't ask why." The rest of the ride is silent. But it's a comfortable silence.
