"You're joking right?" Riley is over at my house. We've been hanging out for the past 3 weeks, me going to her's, she coming to mine.
And right now she is raiding my closet."What? I hate dresses. Have you ever seen me in one?" I raise my eyebrows to add to my question.
"So?! Doesn't mean you shouldn't own a dress! Alright get up. We're going to Northgate. You need a dress."
"For what?"
She rolls her eyes and sighs at me as if I'm just too stupid to understand.
"The Christmas party is 2 months away. You need to get ready for it." I almost fall off my bed from laughing so much.
"And who says I'm going?" She pouts a little at me.
"Oh come on! It will be our first party..." She dances over to me and gives me her best puppy dog face. With the tears and the sparkling huge eyes a little and all. Damn it.
"Fine. Let's go to Northgate. " she squeals and jumps up and down.
"On one condition. You have to buy a dress too." She stops squealing and glares at me.
"Fine. Let's go to Northgate!!!" She squeals again, jumping onto me and squeals into my ear. Yup, that's the end of my eardrums.

"So have you heard from him?" So far we've been to 3 stores and no luck. But I did see some really nice jeans but Riley refused to let me near them."No. It's weird actually. When I sit by you on our table, I can see him on his but it's like he's ignoring me on something, but whatever. I don't really care." Since our hang out 3 weeks ago, Jace hasn't really talked to me. When we see each other in the hallways, there's the occasional nod or wave but nothing else. It's so unlike him to not annoy me.
"Well, don't worry Lexi. When he sees you at the party, he's gonna regret not talking to you."
"Wait, do you think that I like him?"
"Well, yeah?" I give her and incredulous look before laughing.
"Riles, I don't like him. I've only known him for like, a month." She blushes in embarrassment as we enter yet another store.
"Oooh! I see the perfect dress already!" Riley rushes of somewhere in the store, so, being the lazy person that I am, I sit on one of the available chairs and wait for her.
After a few minutes she comes running with something white in her hand.
She thrusts it at me and instructs me to go and try it on. The material is light and soft, and quite nice actually. I oblige to her commands and head towards the changing room.
I quickly put the dress on and call for her to come and see me in this monstrosity they call a "dress".
"Oh my God..." She gasps as she takes me in.
I chuckle dryly. "That bad huh?"
"What?! No! Lexi, you look gorgeous! Like if I was a lesbian I would be seriously lusting over you right now. Have you even looked at yourself?" I ignore her other comments and look in the mirror.
The dress is quite snug, it hugs my body in ways I didn't even know was possible. It's right on top of my knee so it's not too short. It has no sleeves and has a turtle neck. The whiteness of it makes you concentrate on my face. But, I actually look nice. Maybe dresses aren't so bad after all.
"See? I told you. Dresses are nice."
"Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes, yes you did."
I closed the door on her, so that I could change.
After I changed, I walked towards towards the cash register when a pair of heels caught my eye.And that's very weird because I only wear sneakers, Birkenstock's, converse and such. But these heels weren't too high, like 2 inches, and they were pure white. Just like my dress. Before my brain could catch up with my body I had already picked the heels and made my to the cash register.
"Hi can I pay for these right now?" I asked as politely as I could. The woman raised her head, rolled her eyes at me and continued looking at her phone. I simply took a deep breath and then slammed the heels on the counter. She jumped startled. Good.
"Listen. I don't care if you're in a bad mood because you implanted gold teeth. Oh wait sorry, those are your real ones. You should brush your teeth more you know. There's a dentist in this mall you can visit you know. Anyways, I said I want to pay for these. Right now." She looked shocked, but it quickly turned torc boiling rage.
"You listen you little-"
"Any problem here ladies?" A familiar voice says. I turn my head and come face to face with Pervert. I groaned. Great.
The woman stuttered."No-no... Everything is just fine.
I rolled my eyes at her. She practically drooling over him. "How much?"
"The dress is $60 and the heels are $40." I bring out my purse to take the money out when I hear the sound of the cash register working. I look up and see the woman accepting money from Jace. He just smiles at me.
"Jace! I could have paid for those myself!" He simply shrugs and takes my things from the woman. Riley bounds up to us and Jace throws my things at her.
"Take it home for her. I'm taking her somewhere." Riley just nods and gapes.
Without another word he he pulls me out of the shop. I roll my eyes mentally. Here we go!
