"Are you really going to eat that?" It was the period for  lunch and we were ind the cafeteria. And Jace was criticizing my choice of food.

"What?" I ask between mouthfuls of salad.

"Where's the meat? The protein? How can you only eat leaves? Are you a rabbit?" I wearily glance at his food as he sits down across from me. Chicken, beef, pork, fries, sausage, and...broccoli?!

He sees me eyeing the broccoli and shrugs.

"I didn't say you can't eat vegetables. Besides, I have a weird obsession with broccoli." I look at him to see if he's joking but his Face is serious. Too serious, I couldn't help what was coming next. I started laughing. Then choking on my salad.

He simply smirks at me. Umm, hello?! I'm choking here.

"Hey man." 5 guys just sit down next to us. I roll my eyes. Great, his oafs are here.

"Hey, man." They all do that bro-shake I never understand and sit down. Two sit beside him the other two sit beside me. Great.

"Hey, I'm Jayden. This is Chase, Daniel, Sam and Matt." The one sitting to the right of Jace says. He has bright blue eyes and lovely, curly dark hair. He's kinda cute.

"So are you the new girl or what? I mean Jace is always talking about you. About how great you are and blah blah blah. And—"

"SHUT UP! SHUT THE FUCKING HELL UP MATT!" Jace is standing now and he looks mad. I look at the horrified faces of the rest of the boys and stifle a laugh. Then I look at Matt's face and I can't hold it in anymore. The whole cafeteria is looking at us but I don't care.

"If you...could see... the look...on...your...faces! Priceless!!" I say in between laughs. Jace slowly sits down, a red tint covering his cheeks.

"Oh, and Jace?" He looks at me with an awkward expression.

"Yes?"

"Mind your language." At this the whole table erupt in laughter.

"What? What did I say wrong?" I am extremely confused.

"Ok,ok. That is just cute." Jayden says, smiling at me. I scowl back.

"Woah, there Lexi. No hard feelings." He tries to make me understand.

"Besides, Jace got one thing right." Matt says, putting his arm around me. "You are very hot!"

These are the times I'm thankful that I'm black. If I was white I would probably look like a tomato. No offense. I suddenly hear a cry of pain from Matt. One of the guys, Daniel I think, smacked the back of his head.

"Shit, that hurt." He received another one from me.

"Sorry." He mumbles, putting his arms around his head for protection.

"No one is allowed to wack my head anymore!" He says, pouting like a child. I can't help but laugh at his immaturity.

The rest of the guys just roll their eyes. Except Jayden, he keeps on looking at me and smiling. Creep.

"So, Lexi, how are you finding the college so far?" I almost choke again.

"I keep forgetting this is a college. It feels and looks like a high school. Why does it feel like a high school?'

"Because-"

"Because the school is complete shit." Sam, I think breaks in. I give shoot him a glare but he just shrugs and drinks his coffee.

"You have your way of saying things, I have mine."

"Anyway, before I was rudely interrupted," Jayden gives Sam a glare that could bury anyone six feet under but he just shrugs at him and continues drinking his coffee. "The school thought that it's students would miss high school so they made a lot of the classes like high school classes. Even the school looks like a highs school."
