Do you know those scenes in movies and stories where a character messes up in a life and death situation? Well, ayan na nga ang nangyayari sa amin..
...or well... isa sa amin.
"Ugh! Get away" Dan yelled at the infected as he repeatedly tried to pull his leg from its clutches.
"Dan!" sigaw ni Stacy, ngunit bago pa man siya makababa ng hagdan para pumunta kay Dan, pinigilan siya agad ni Darren.
"Anong ginagawa mo! Gusto mo bang mamatay si Dan?"she screamed.
"It's too dangerous" Darren told her as he blocked her next attempt in trying to go to Dan.
I went towards them and held both of Stacy's shoulders. Darren can be insane in making decisions, but right now he's right. Hindi namin kaya na mawalan pa ng isang miyembro, kung talaga ngang matuluyan si Dan.
She turned around and faced me tears flowing through her eyes. Times like this, when someone Stacy cares about is in danger is when she really lose her ability in making the correct decisions.
I averted my gaze towards the back to see Jay getting a pistol from his holster. "Wala nang ibang paraan, pagkatiwalaan niyo nalang ako rito" banggit niya.
"What are you thinking? Magsisimula ka ng mas malalang problema!" sigaw ni Darren pero hindi siya pinakinggan ni Jay.
He pointed it directly at the infected and without any hesitation, he shot it.
A loud bang was heard and by this time alam namin na hindi maganda ang mga susunod na mangyayari sa amin. Tinulungan ni Darren na makatayo si Dan habang binaril ni Jay ang isa pang infected na nakasunod sa amin.
"That's enough Jay" Dan commanded as he stood up. "If the movies we're right then susundan ng mga infected ang tunog ng baril mo"
Jay simply nodded and followed the two other guys towards us. By the time Jay reached the top, shrieks and grunts from downstairs grew louder accompanied by footsteps getting closer.
Stacy let go of me and agad siyang dumeretso para yakapin si Dan. "Are you okay Dan?" she asked him.
He hugged her back and kissed her forehead. "Okay lng ko Stace" he answered with a smile.
Seems like everybody made it so I quickly closed the door as soon as Jay was out of the way. Moments later a loud bang on the metal door was heard followed by more banging and some scratching. I simply sighed as the infected on the other side all kept on groaning.
Well at least alam na namin na attracted sila sa sound.
Tumingin ako sa likod ko, everyone else was exhausted as I am. They were breathing heavily, it seems nobody has no idea on how we can escape this scenario.
Nasa mataas kaming palapag kaya imposibleng tumalon kami pababa, plus madami ring infected sa baba so going there in the first place would still lead to a dead end. Hindi rin namin kayang labanan ang mga nakaharang sa pinto dahil sa napakarami sila at wala kaming armas pangprotekta sa mga sarili namin.
I sighed again, and like everyone else, I sat down.
"You think we can beat them?" Stacy asked, picking up a metal rod from the floor.
