Loche stood in the middle of the park, silently watching the people walk by.
His colorless eyes caught between a certain couple. Watching them argue back and forth, neither really making a decision or point of stopping.
It seemed to be over something small but apparently big enough to disrupt the people around them. "And that's what you get for eating my quesadilla, you punk!" Loche shouted at the two, finally tired of listening. Watching their faces twist in confusion when they turned to look at him. " That's right. I'm calling you suckers out. What now?" The pair quickly settled down, walking away to continue arguing in peace. He smiled, both proud of himself and content in the now quiet area.

Deciding to lie down in the grass, basking in the sun like a stray cat. Eyes closed, smiling to the sky , silently thanking whatever force created such a wonderful ball of warmth. The sunshine disappeared, disrupted by a shadow. " Are you high again..?" A voice asked, pulling him from his thoughts. He recognized it as his dear ex and best friend Ryder " Maybe.." refusing to open his eyes to reveal the truth. He wasn't intoxicated. 'Why should I be out of my mind to enjoy the sunlight? Do people really need an excuse for enjoying life?' he thought to himself. " Typical. Y'know, maybe you'd have an easier time finding another partner if you stopped acting so stupid. You know what growing up is, right?..." Ryder continued on ranting and lecturing him to no avail. He silenced his surroundings, trying to focus on the grass or something other than his faults. Tugging at the blades of grass, digging his heels into the dirt.

While trying to detach from reality, he felt something wet on his face. Reaching up to wipe whatever it was away only to find he had started crying. Actively listening or not, Ryder's words had sunk in. They never seem to fail to. Opening his eyes, looking up at the other who went quiet a few moments ago. " I'm sorry.." he said quietly, his voice void of any trace of direct emotion. He hated this state of mind. Caught between caring too much and not at all. Physical reactions seeping from his inner being such as tears while somehow maintaining his near stoic expressions. He'll re-adjust soon and he knows this. For the time being though, he's caught. Ryder rolled his eyes, pulling him up by the elbow. " Whatever, stop sulking dumbass. Let's go get a drink, yeah?" "Yeah.." Walking alongside the taller male, dragging his feet. Listening to the sound the souls of his shoes made against the concrete.

Ryder meant well and he knew that, but he could be so insensitive at times. Something he hadn't truly noticed until they tried to hook up. Needless to say, it was a mistake. Ryder brought him to the newest bar in town. New meaning over ten years old but still, new people were passing through all the time. He didn't really feel like dealing with people today though. Sitting down at one of the back tables, watching the people drunkenly laugh, cry, and chatter around him. " What was the owner thinking when he put this here?" Ryder asked, wondering why someone would put such a place near a main intersection. Loche's mind said to help with natural selection, but instead he said, " Business probably. A neat idea, kinda. Maybe he should've put it further down though." His voice as void as his expression. Ryder knowing what was wrong, decided to let him be for now. Furthering conversation with him, trying to coax his friend out of the shell coated mask. " What would you like to drink?" He asked, unable to tell whether Loche was looking at him or through him. " Can I have a..uh.." trailing off into his own thoughts once again. What was he supposed to say? What does he normally get? " Can I just have a Pepsi?" Ryder nodded, going to the counter. Though he could've waited on the waitress, he figured Loche needed a moment.

Loche took in the scenery. The familiar feeling of his surroundings being the building and music slowly bringing him back to reality. This was no field, foreign country, or some political threats office or home. Readjusting slowly but surely, he managed to let it sink in and relax. Smiling to himself, glad to be back to his senses. Of course he was still surrounded by alcoholics with his ex of all people. He did have to admit Ryder knew how to reset him though. " Oi, ya stupid bastard, where's my Pepsi?" He called, mocking the other whilst they attempted to hit on the bar tender. Not like she was interested anyway.

Ryder mentally sighed.' Back to normal..' he thought, bringing him the glass. " Welcome back dumbass. How was the void?"the void being what he called his little mind space. " They say if you stare into the void, the void stares back...or something like that. I think it lost the staring contest." He rolled his eyes, though he smiled. " Uh huh. Want a shot to celebrate?" "You know me so well."

The end cuz I'm lazy.
