The Fog

     The next day, as you get ready for school, something on the television catches your attention, eyes widening as you read the description on the screen.

It was all over the news. A rare phenomenon that hadn't happened in years.

You can't remember much of it given that it happened roughly around the time you were born, but you vaguely remember your parents talking about it every once in a while, the subject only coming up when something slightly suspicious occurred.

While experts aren't sure about the development yet, they do know that it is very similar to the infamous fog.

So to fill you in, here's how the official story reported by the news and the people goes:

Roughly around the time you were born, a fog settled over the city of Seoul.

People weren't so worried at first, thinking nothing of the strange fog, not even when the fog morphed into a circle shape making a dome around Seoul.

But what made this fog different, is that those who tried to leave, still minding their daily lives, never returned. No one knows where they went. Even after all these years, there have been no traces of them.

People said that this only happened millennial ago, when the sorrow of many became too much to beat for the gods, and were therefore punished with an unescapable fog that caused those to lift their head and work together.

Now, it seems to be happening again, but nobody is really that deep in sorrow. If anything, life seemed to have improved in Seoul ever since. City life flourishing after the strange phenomenon.

In time, people forgot about the event and moved on with their lives, leading them to the present day.

It was odd, but people didn't seem to dwell on it too much, to the point where no one really looked into it, until now...

Given the mysterious nature of the rare phenomenon, all sorts of rumors and theories starting sprouting around, the people intrigued by the returning fog.

As you walk outside, your eyes lift to the dark gray clouds above, a fog barely visible on the street.

Is this the fog they were talking about? You wonder, hand reaching out to to touch the mist below.

However to you, it just looks like a regular storm might be brewing, nothing that can't clear up in a few days.

But of course that is not the case. As the days pass, things continue to get worse, to the point where it is almost impossible to go out and be able to see beyond a few meters in front of you.

Along with the mysterious fog, another person continues to miss school.

Jung Hoseok.

How long has it been since the last time you saw him? At this point, you've lost track of how long it's been.

By now, his absence has become clearly noted by his classmates, a long forgotten rumor now spreading through the school like wildfire.

You remember hearing about it, but you always tried your best to ignore it.

It was about the mayor's son. He had cheated on his wife in a drunk filled haze and the son was the end result. That son being the one and only Hoseok.

But now, with this threatening and dangerous fog trapping everyone in Seoul, the rumor you've once ignored comes back.

It is something hard to ignore when everyone is talking about it, and although you hate to admit it, for some reason, you can no longer ignore it.

What if the rumor is true?

Could Hoseok really be the key to this mysterious phenomenon? After all, the two do seem to be linked somehow.

There is only one way to find out.

You need to find him. You need to find Hoseok.
