you only wonder why once it has been done
once you get the phone call
and once you come into class the next day
how did i miss that?
how could i have possibly missed that?
someone who i've seen almost everyday, how could i have not realised what they were feeling inside?
it's heartbreaking
because someone who was never noticed and never cared about
suddenly becomes the focus of all attention
why do you care now?
why do you care after he/she/they are gone?
but one thing i find surprising
is after someone is gone
everyone is suddenly their bestfriend
or their cousin
and everyone is crying
the people who used to give them stares in the hallways, now put up flowers and posters.
the girls who used to laugh at them when they were upset, now weep with grief.
the people who used to hate me
now love me
