Ari's P.O.V.

As they dragged me out of the room, I was fading in and out of consciousness. I could barely figure out my surroundings, and when they threw me against a wall? I was done for. Now within the confines of my own head, I can only begin to imagine what was going on right now in the real world. I don't know what I look like, but it feels wrong. Foreign. I struggle to wake up, trying to see if Sarah is ok! But to no avail. I feel like I've been trapped here for hours until I hear it. The screams. Her screams. I suddenly burst awake, and try to yell for her! But instead of screaming her name but it comes out like something from a fantasy film. I... I roared. I try again but only with the same result. I try to just say... Anything! But it comes out as grunts, growls, and roars.

I start to cry. It didn't sound like crying but trust me it was. I haven't even taken in my new appearance. Just going by how I feel, I'm already horrified with what I've become. I try to shuffle my way on all fours to the far corner from the door. I don't want her to look at me. And what if they put someone else in here with me while Sarah's not around?!
Would they scream...?
Would they beg for their lives...?
Would they call me a monster...?
Although, I guess that's what I am now... Just a terrifying monster. I lie there, curled up. Eyes closed. I stay there for what seemed like hours until I drifted off, hoping this was all a giant nightmare.

An hour later I wake up to the loud screeching of the door, then the thud of the body. I continue to lay still, pretending to be asleep. I hear the grunts coming from her a few minutes later. I hear a quite "Ari...? Is that you...?" Come from Sarah. She's quivering, her voice trembling. I give up my act, and give a grumble, letting her known in alive. I hear a small breath of relief, and then a small squeal. I shift my head a bit and crack one of my eyes open to see a dumbfounded Sarah holding her new, tall, snow white wolf ears. She then moves to her tail of matching style.

After a minute, she realizes that I'm watching her, and she quickly runs over and kneels in front of me. I open my eye a bit wider and look at her, to let her know I'm listening. "What have they don't to you..?" She asks under her breath. I just shift my head away from her and curl up tighter. I still have no idea what I look like, or if I'm even remotely recognizable anymore. I was about to look back at her when I went stiff, the feeling of her lightly dragging her fingers over the scales on my... Wings? A few seconds later, I relaxed a bit, although it was still incredibly weird. I decided to turn back to her, my back against the wall, wings out to the sides of me, resting on the floor. I opened my eyes and looked at her, and I could see sadness, pain, and guilt in her eyes. She thinks it was her fault for this happening to me, and I can't tell her it wasn't...

Sarah opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by the squeaking of the door. By instinct I rushed in front of Sarah, ready to protect her. What else do I have to lose? Two guards walk in with a potato sack and throw it at me before walking out, closing the door behind them. I get out of the way, and Sarah grabs the bag. By now we've both determined that I have 3 inch long claws and it would be very difficult for me to do... Anything, actually. I get a glimpse of my arms, now having patches of black scales randomly painted all over them. As soon as I see I look up, not wanting to see anything else. When I go back to look at Sarah, she finishes opening the bag. "It's food," she says, unenthusiastically. I look at her, confused. I haven't eaten since I got here, and I'm starving. She shuffles through the bag, and pulls out a larger piece of meat, and tosses it in front of me. "I'm going to assume its for you since nothing seems to get close to that size and you're... Ya know. Part.. dragon... Yeah."

I sit there for a second, looking at the large piece of red meat lying in front of me. Whatever it was it looked and smelled amazing, but to be honest, anything would at this point. I was so hungry! I go to take a bite of it cautiously, but I stop right there when I see Sarah. She's sitting in front of me to the side a bit. She's loosely holding a sandwich, but by the looks of it has no intention of eating it. I look closer at her face and her eyes are swollen, cheeks wet. She was silently crying next to me and I didn't even notice? I quickly gulp down my food, barely tasting it. I then walk over to her and lightly nudge her with my head. I try to be careful since I don't know if I have anything harmful on my head, and I seem to have done a good job by the sigh and slight hug coming from her. I lean further into her, and we sit there like that for a while. We end up falling asleep shortly after that, me lying curled up, and her using me as a pillow. I doze off to her singing some song I can't quite remember, only to be woken up by the harsh screech coming from the old door hinges.
