Alex's POV
As I slowly come too, soft crying is the only sound besides the residual humming coming from the walls. It hurts to move, but I manage as I slowly sit up, gaining the attention of the other person. The sobs stop as I look around, to find Sarah alone in the corner, looking at me. It takes a few seconds, but you can see that it eventually clicks that I'm awake, and she gets up and walks over to me.
"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" She asks in a rather... Desperate tone? I think for a second and say "I'm alright, Sarah. Don't worry." I give her a relaxed smile. Relief washes over her face as she hears my words, and she goes back to her corner, nodding. "That's good... That's good..." She mumbles, although seemingly more to herself than me. I hate to ask, but...
"Where's Ari?" As the words leave my mouth, she freezes and fails to hold in her tears as she starts crying again.
I go to comfort her while possibility after possibility goes through my head. Is she hurt? Dead? I see something glimmer out of the corner of my eye, but that's not important right now. What happened to her? "Sarah...? What.. what happened..?" I don't get a response for a few minutes, but eventually, her crying slows, and she sniffles.
"She ran after you.. and I haven't seen her since... I was hoping! That she'd be back around the time you came back... But it's been a long time... She should be back by now, Alex!!" She yells my name, sobbing now into my chest. A few tears slip out and I can't help but get nervous, but I have to stay strong for Sarah. She's a mess right now.. someone has to be here for her.
I wrap my arms around her to comfort her more, and I realize what the shiny... Glimmery? Thing was from before. Its... Me? My arms are the same but with a purplish tint, that's kind of reflecting the small amount of light in the room and has fine shimmers. I saw it, and it took a lot in me to not jump back. I wonder if anything else is different about me, but I'm not wondering long as I am quickly interrupted by the door squeaking open.
Both of our heads snap over to the door. I can see a desperate look on Sarah's face from the corner of my eye, but it's quickly ripped off her face and replaced by sadness when a small snack, along with a more humanoid person is thrown in. As the door slams closed, I go to investigate. As I get closer, they start to move. They sit up, and I instantly recognize her. Sarah recognized her as well, as she started sobbing again. I look back to make sure she's ok but then turn to the new person. She blinks her eyes open and looks around in a daze. Soon reality hits her, and her eyes land on me.
"Alex?!" She says, shocked. She makes her way over to me, wrapping her arms around me.
I sigh. "Hey... Meghan...."
