Author's Note: Some of this stuff might be similar to how it happened in the actual episode. I don't know haha, but I wrote this with hazy memories of the scene in mind so some of it might also be wrong :).

"Daoming Si!"

His heart stopped. It couldn't be. But he knew that voice.

She repeated herself.

Shancai.

His heart leapt instantly again at the sound, and as much as he tried to push the sudden excited feelings of hearing her voice like that, like her, soft and tentative, but brave and strong and full of life, he couldn't. She was here, she had trekked all the way, to, of all places, London, when he knew for a fact she was extremely uncomfortable with foreign countries. Not that he was much of the tourist type either, but his copious amount of business work as heir to the Daoming business line demanded it.

"Come back, Daoming Si." Her voice was hoarse, like she'd been yelling a lot, and he wondered for a second if she'd gotten into trouble with some of the natives.

He didn't respond, instead choosing to continue to look at her with a masked face. You can do it, Si. Just pretend. Pretend she is any other girl and you are any other boy.

Until now she hadn't met his eyes, preferring to look away. But she decided to take a chance. Her large, brown eyes met his darker ones as they regarded each other in silence for a moment. Her cheeks colored as he didn't break his unwavering gaze, but she refused to look away, glaring at him right back. That spirit, that tenacity, that fierceness, everything he loved about her.

How could he reject her.

She opened her mouth again.

"Daoming S-"

His mother appeared in his mind. And she made his decision for him.

"Go home," he said impassively, his eyes finally breaking their gaze on her.

Her eyes widened in surprise, then confusion, and finally, and what wrecked him the most, pain. But he had to do this. You have to do this, Ah Si.

"Forget about us, forget everything," he said harshly.

She didn't say anything.

"I never loved you."

A pause.

"And I know you never felt anything for me, except," and here he faltered a bit, "except for Lei." His heart twisted painfully as he said the name of his once rival.

Another pause.

That should've done it, he thought to himself in self-loathing. A few seconds went by, and he tentatively met her gaze.

As soon as he met her eyes, to his extreme surprise, she smiled. She smiled! A bit reproachfully, but nonetheless, a smile!

She is smiling, he thought in wonder. She is smiling, and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

"Ah S–Daoming Si, you complete idiot!" she cried. Tears filled her eyes, and a happy sob escaped her as her knees gave in and she fell into him as his arms went automatically around her. He blinked in confusion.

"I know you're lying, you stupid boy," she exclaimed, her voice muffled in his chest.

"Stupid, stupid. Can't you even lie properly?"

He stared at her, his mouth open in disbelief, as she snuggled closer into him.

But of course, he realized. He'd made the fatal mistake: he'd never once met her eye.

Beautiful girl. Smart girl. My girl.

She sniffed a little, and looked back up at him. Her face signaled she was back to business. Shancai took his hand firmly.

"We're going back home."

He didn't reply, but let her lead him out of the room. It didn't matter where they went to him, he was already home.

I'm always home when you are with me.
