Gwen was lying awake on her bed. She hadn't been able to sleep for days now. She figured it was because of the lack of the voice of the symbiote constantly talking inside her head. It was really weird not having it around, since she had got used to it speaking to her for almost a year, and, when it was when she was alone that the absence of her partner's voice was most noted.
The peace and quietness were... unsettling, to say the least. But it was in those long, sleepless nights that Gwen Stacy could finally settle down and think. About her father. About the Mary Janes, her band. About her mentor, Jessica Drew. But her thoughts always seemed to drift off to that boy she had met the year past. Miles Morales. Spider-Man. The boy she had kissed. The boy who, in some future, she would marry.
She had let him go that first time, blaming time; and every night she would start wandering about what could have happened, had they stayed together. One night she got tired of wandering. Tired of the "What If..." s; so she made a decision.
She took her recently repaired dimmensional travel watch, scribbled a note to her father saying that she would be away for a couple of weeks, wrote a text to her band mates, telling them the same, and she inserted the coordinates for Earth 616's Brooklyn, and pressed the activator. A purple circle appeared in front of her. Gwen inhaled deeply and stepped inside. When the circle dissapeared. Gwen Stacy wasn't there anymore...
Miles Morales was swinging through the skyscrapers of New York. There was nothing he loved doing more than that. Just to swing. No bad guys to defeat, no wars to fight in. he loved it for the sense of peace and quietness it gave him. Just him and the skyscrapers.
Miles did a backflip in mid air and suddenly, a bright purple light flashed in the sky a few blocks away. That wasn't a thing that happened oftenly in Brooklyn, so he decided to go investigate. When Miles arrived at the scene he saw a girl, lying on the roof of a building, dressed in a black, white and pink onesie. He gasped: -"Gwen?"Hey!
