I felt scared. Even though I've been blind for some time now it's still hard. I often feel depressed when I can't see the beauty in things with my eyes. But then I think about it. I can see the beauty in things with my other senses such as taste,touch,feel,etc. It makes me feel like I don't have it tough. I just need to overcome it.
That's what I tend to do but I haven't always been that way.
For an example I feel so depressed when I'm around Gene. Not because he hurts my feelings or anything! But because I have strong feelings for him. Yet I can't see him. I can't touch him without feeling like I'm making him uncomfortable. I can only hear him and feel the tension between us. I just wanna feel what it's like to have a trustworthy lover.
I've tried dating in the past. It usually doesn't work out however because when a guy finds out I'm blind they often ask stupid questions such as. "Do you know any guy can rape you at any moment?". "So how do you use the bathroom?". "How do you know your straight if you haven't even seen a guy?". There's a bunch more but that's to highlight a few. It makes me frustrated to be with guys like those but with Gene I feel something more. He guided me throughout high school when I was loosing my vision. That was so sweet of him!
Even though he still sees he tries to help me as much as possible. He's kinda like my guide dog if you think about it. He's just so sweet and kind I can't think why people would hate him. Yeah he was a bully but if you got to know him he's actually quite a good friend. Which hurts me. That he will only be labeled my great friend because he always loved Aphmau or as he use to call her Kitty. I don't understand what's about her that every guy and girl falls for you romantically. I don't hate her however I just feel upset that I can never compare to someone so perfect.
She can see. She is nice and smart. She offers help to everyone. She's perfect. While me I feel worthless because of my condition sometimes. I know it's not something I can control but it still feels like it's my fault. Because I always need special help. I just wanna be normal sometimes and say screw this and get my vision back. But that's totally unrealistic.
Gene's P.O.V
I smiled at (Y/N) as I helped her do that dishes. I mostly wash the knives because I worry that one of these days she'll stab her hand by accident. Even though she always says she can things by herself I've seen her and she always ends up hurt. Today we thought about going to the arcade. Surprisingly even though she is blind she is really good at video games. Hell sometimes it's embarrassing when she beats me at a game.
But I still love playing with her because out of everything I see she enjoys it a lot.
Anywho after we finished washing the dishes and put them away we go ready to go out. I just grabbed my sunglasses and put them on. (Y/N) took her time to pack her bag and took out her walking stick. Which is weird because she never uses her walking stick. "(Y/N) I can just hold your hand like always" I said smiling. "Yeah but everyone starts staying at us like we are a couple" she said. "(Y/N) how do you know you can't see and so what? They are probably just jealous because of my beautiful girlfriend" I said laughing. She blushed and put her walking stick away and hugged me. I hugged back. "You are the bestest friend ever!" She said. I blushed and chuckled. "No you!" I said and walked out with her.
*a little while later*
"DANG IT!" (Y/N) yelled upset that she lost a game once again. I laughed as she takes out the two tickets that she won. She was glaring at me because I had way more tickets than her.
"Maybe you lost you skill." I said with a smirk.
"Such up I don't want to hear it!" She said curling her ball in a fist. "Ugh you sound like Zenix so childish" I said laughing. We went to the ticket booth. She just got (F/C) (favorite candy) and Dip in Dots. I on the other hand got a got whatever else she wanted.
Because I love her so much.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
Gene gave me all his tickets. I blushed when he told me all the options I can pick from. I kept telling him no but he insisted on getting me whatever I want. I got squishes....because when your blind squishes is like the best form of entertainment.
And I got some candy which later on realized it was a bad idea because it tasted like it's been sitting there since last year. After we left with the rest of our tickets we headed to the mall.
We went into hot topic because he really wanted to go. I just walked around with him holding his hand. But after awhile of walking around I felt something. IT WAS A LIMITED EDITION PINKIE PIE! Gene laughed as I told him I just want to get it to hear Zane's reaction.
I took out my wallet and tried to give the lady my debit card but she told me that it was already paid for. I can feel Gene just smirking at me when she said that. Immediately I jammed my elbow in his side. "Stooooop I make money too you know!" I said. He just laughed and booped my tummy. "Hey! Sexual assault that was without my consent!" I said feeling the heat in my cheeks.
"How is it sexual assault you always touch my nipples and twists them as hard as possible" he said as he put my stuff in my bag.
We walked around some more as Gene teased me when we passed by Spencers and Victoria secret. "Yeah no!" I said blushing even more.
Suddenly we stopped. I heard water falling and immediately figuring out that we were by the fountain that's around the food court area. I sniffed and smelled the fat covered yet delicious smelling food.
But the excitement of food was replaced by an unfamiliar feeling.
A fuzzy feeling ran through me. Heat roamed my heart. Excitement was still there but not for food. My hands turned sweaty and I felt like my ears canceling all the noise of whiney children.
Gene kissed me and I returned it.
We lasted for what was minutes but felt like more. I blushed hearing the soft sound of our lips parting.
Irene is that you?
I felt his familiar arms wrap around me. But they were lightly shaking. Was he nervous?
"(Y/N) spending the day with you...it always amazes me how you feel so positive all the time even with your condition...and how your condition doesn't change you or our relationship.....but now I want more than friendship I wanna love you (Y/N)..." he said softly.
A lump in my throat and tears of happiness in my eyes. That's how I responded as I hugged him so tightly. He hugged back being as gentle as possible.
"What's stopping you Gene? Because it's definitely not me because...I love you too" I said. That's when his shaking stop and a kiss followed after.
We kissed for what felt like an eternity......In the long run however we did kiss for all eternity.
