Possible Trigger Warning: Slight mention of homophobia, bullying
Virgil
Virgil had somehow snuck a mattress into his room for Roman to sleep on. If Virgil was being honest this whole ordeal was just making him bubble with anxiety. Roman was nice to be around and he seemed like a nice enough person, but the fact that he was a prince and nonetheless from the story he had just wrote. Virgil was still on guard. If Virgil was still being honest he would comment on the fact that Roman looked cuter in modern clothes, but he would never say something like that.
Virgil tossed Roman a blanket from the closet along with a pillow and climbed in his own bed. He had changed into his own pajama's and taught Roman about some of the stuff that this dimension had. Currently it was half past 2 in the morning and Virgil only just remembered school. Crap. Suddenly, he panicked. He had school and Roman would be stuck here with his parents that didn't even know he existed. Roman looked up at him from his place on the mattress.
"Are you alright?" He asked with worry. Virgil, wide-eyed, nodded. He had to think and fast.
"Okay, remember how I was teaching you about textbooks, right?" Virgil said fiddling his thumbs. Roman nodded confused. "Okay, so those textbooks are for a place called school, which I need to go to tomorrow." Virgil continued.
"Why are you freaking out? Can't I just come with you?" Roman asked still confused. Virgil huffed. Roman had no idea about the world and here he was expecting him to get it all at once. He had to teach him about what school was. Great.
"Okay, so school's a place--" Virgil started before being interrupted.
"Virgil, I'm not dumb. We had a school back in Spring, but well being a prince I don't exactly know how it works." Roman confessed. Virgil thought. Of course he'd know what school is.
"Well, in this dimension, the people who teach you have to know you're coming. And in order to do that we need to speak to the head person in charge, but we need an adult." Virgil tried explaining in the best way possible.
"So, you're saying I would have to stay here until your mom and dad figure out I'm here." Roman said.
"Dads." Virgil corrected. Roman was again confused.
"But, isn't that frowned upon? The same gender courting each other?" Roman said. Virgil smiled sadly.
"Not really. In this world it's completely okay." Virgil said. Roman seemed to smile in relief. Virgil didn't question it. "But yeah, you'd have to stay here until we figure something out."
"We?" Roman asked confused.
"Yeah. If you wanna get back to this 'Spring' were going to have to work together." Virgil said in a matter-of-fact tone. Roman nodded thinking it over. "But, for now let's worry on how were going to hide you from my dads." Just then the door opened. Patton and Logan stood there.
"Hide what?" Patton asked before his gaze landed on Roman on the mattress. Logan pushed the door open further and also looked at Roman.
"When did you sneak a boy in?" Logan asked directing his gaze to Virgil. Virgil was frozen and a stuttering mess trying to explain before Patton squealed.
"Virgil!" He said with a bright smile. Roman sat confused looking between the emo boy and his parents.
"W-what?" Virgil stuttered out. Patton just giggled again.
"You got a boyfriend!" Patton continued. Roman's confusion grew while Virgil's face grew extremely red.
"N-no! I can explain!" Virgil said jumping out of bed and pushing his parents out of the door, leaving a confused Roman behind. Virgil pushed his parents to the couch before speaking.
