Possible Trigger Warning: Someone gets slapped,

Virgil

Virgil and Roman stood at the front of the school, Virgil glaring at it while Roman was in some type of awe.

"That's a big building." Roman commented. Virgil nodded.

"Well, they have to have room for 7-12th graders. There a middle school connected, and we bus all of the kids from out of town here." Virgil explained walking through the gates, the prince following.

"Here's the story. You're a foreign exchange student living with me and my parents, and don't tell anyone about you being from another realm. Got it?" Virgil said looking back to Roman. He quickly nodded and looked around some more. Virgil felt off. He looked around to see almost every students eye on the pair.

"And most of the kids here are jerks." Virgil said locking eyes with his bully.

"They look like people who would associate with bandits." Roman said.

"You had bandits?" Virgil whispered, anxiety bubbling through his veins.

"Uh huh." Roman whispered back. A group of girls nearby giggled.

"We should get inside." Virgil said walking as fast as he could into the building. Roman rushed to follow the darkly dressed emo. Virgil was just really hoping that Desman wouldn't mess with him, especially with Roman on his tail all day. If his parents didn't know, neither would the boy behind him.

Approaching the first of five periods they had, Virgil slumped against the wall. Usually the teacher kept the door locked and he had to wait. An amused smirk fell upon his features when a group of popular girls came up to Roman asking about him.

"Where are you from?" The leader of the small group asked with a flirty tone.

"I'm a foreign exchange student." Roman said playing along.

"From where?" Another asked.

"Does it matter?" The prince retorted. The leader sighed dreamily and the minute bell rung. With a groan the girls dragged themselves off.

"You seemed to have fun." Virgil commented. Roman sighed.

"No one in Spring was ever like that. They were more extreme." Roman explained. Virgil felt bad for the prince all of a sudden. Sure, Virgil wasn't one to have social interactions, but if Roman had girls, and possibly boys, all over him 24/7, he couldn't imagine it.

The door to class had opened and Virgil led Roman inside seating him next to him in the back row. Roman didn't complain, he'd rather not sit next to another girl who only wanted him for his looks. Hanging out with Virgil for the past few days made hanging out with girls more awkward for the prince. A sharp ring filled the room, signaling class had begun.

Roman had never been so bored in his life. The teacher talked in a monotone voice and only kept up the notes on the board for so long. Virgil seemed to be chilling. He had his phone out and was secretly taking pictures of the notes, so he didn't have to rush to get them down at this moment. He looked over to Roman who had given up and was just staring at his doodles. After a long hour and a half the shrill bell rang. The almost dead-like teacher called a goodbye as Virgil dragged Roman throughout the halls. Until they were stopped.

"Hey! You're new here right?" A girl asked standing in front of Virgil, efficiently blocking their path. Virgil sighed and Roman nodded. The girl had strawberry blonde hair with dyed pink streaks in it and was holding a notepad. Her pink sweater went neatly with her knee-low red skirt and shoes.
