Virgil

Virgil had been walking for maybe only a few minutes when he saw a large wall in the distance. He stopped. Was this really worth it? Would they be able to tell he wasn't from here? The fairy almost didn't, maybe they wouldn't. Virgil shook his head. There was no way in hell he was leaving Roman to the sorcerer. Virgil pressed forward. When he reached the wall he discovered his first problem. How was he going to get in? Opal puffed and flew off. Virgil sighed and ran to keep up with her. When Opal finally stopped she was by a river, that led into the kingdom through a gate. Although the bars were really far apart.

He had to go through the water. Virgil looked at Opal who puffed onto the water, making it freeze. It was only temporary and Virgil quickly made his way through the gate and into the kingdom. Luckily, his entrance was in a very secluded area. But he seemed to be really close to the castle. Now he just had to find, what was his name, Shayne. The dragon had stayed put beyond the gate.

"C'mon." Virgil whispered. Opal shook her head. Virgil sighed. This world was probably way different than his, maybe dragons weren't allowed in the kingdom. Virgil whispered a thanks and she flew off. Now Virgil was alone. He watched the small creek melt and he looked around his surroundings. He needed to find Shayne, but who was Shayne? This was going to be difficult.

Virgil barely got anywhere when guards had found him and sent him to the dungeons, claiming he was trespassing. How was he supposed to find Shayne if he was locked in here? He plopped on the rust coloured mattress and placed his head in his hands. This was a nightmare.

'Virgil!' A familiar voice, barely above a whisper, called his name. His head shot up as he looked outside of the bars. Roman? Virgil shook his head. There was no way.. He leaned back with a sigh before hearing quick footsteps. His head turned to look at a boy. He seemed maybe 13 with golden blonde hair swept to one side. He looked panicked and wore an outfit similar to the one Virgil first saw Roman in.

"Hey!" He called when he reached to door. Virgil looked over.

"What?" He asked coldly.

"You're not from here are you?" The younger boy asked. Virgil shook his head.

"Was it that obvious?" He asked sarcastically. The younger nodded.

"Do you know someone by the name of Roman, by chance?" The young boy asked.

"Why?" Virgil asked defensively.

"My name is Shayne and I'm investigating the disappearance of the prince. He went missing a few weeks ago and I think I might know where to find him." Shayne spoke. Virgil immediately stood. This was the boy he needed to find, and he knew where Roman was.

"Where?!" He asked quickly.

"So you do know him." Shayne smiled. Virgil's face remained unchanged as he nodded. "You might be the only person here who can help get him back." Shayne explained.

"Where is he?" Virgil asked as Shayne took out a key and unlocked the door. Virgil walked out and followed Shayne through the maze of hallways.

"How'd you know I was down here?" Virgil asked. Shayne looked at something and spoke.

"I just had a feeling, I guess." Shayne smiled. Virgil nodded. Shayne led him to a set of stairs.

"This is the staircase that leads up too the gardens. We're going to have to find a way out from there." Shayne explained. Virgil immediately recalled something. He watched as Shayne tossed him Roman's katana that the guards took, before speaking his mind.

"In the hedge maze there should be a hole dug that we can get through." Virgil remembered writing Roman's escape. Shayne looked back quickly as Virgil latched the weapon to his hip.
