No sooner did she leave than I ran to the phone and dialed Luke's number. I called three times and got no answer, I was worried that something like this would happen. At some point, he would realize that I wasn't worth all of the effort and he would be done. I'm not gonna worry about it right now, I'm going home and that's my silver lining.
Everyone stopped by Gisele's room before we left, to say bye to Han. I gotta say that our little Brazilian tryst did Roman well, this plane is really nice. Most of my money is accruing interest at a bank in the Bahamas, ready to be spent the day that I choose to do so.
It was a long flight and still no word from Luke, it scares the hell out of me. I kept playing with the necklace that he got me, not being able to leave it alone. Now I know how he felt when I pulled the ghost face and let me tell you, it's not pretty.
By the time we landed it was 6 am and sunny as hell, yet we left at 3 am London time. Jet lag and time difference do not sit well with me. I'm cranky, crabby, bitchy, moody, in pain, and pissed off with the damn crutches bullshit. I feel like an invalid and I'm far from it, there are people who are in much worse situations and they take it in stride.
There were three cars waiting for us; Tej, Kaylee, and Roman were in the first, Dom and Letty were in the second, Mia, Brian and I went in the third. We went straight home, the one place I really want to be right now.
The place was tossed and my siblings wouldn't let me do anything to help. Mia cleaned my room first and then I was grounded. The more time I angrily grumbled in my room, the sleepier I got until I just fell asleep. When I woke up it was dark and I could smell food. The damn crutches are staying here though, I refuse to use the damn things in my own house.
I hobbled out of my room, shrieking when I walked into my sister.
"God, I think you just ruptured my eardrum." she complained.
"You scared the hell out of me, you're lucky I didn't punch you."
"I have unfortunate memories of the one time that you did."
"That was your own fault, dad told you not to scare me."
"Yeah, I was just coming to wake you up."
"What for?"
"To eat and shower, then you can take your meds and go back to sleep."
"You know me so well, mom. Where is everyone?"
"Tej, Kay, and Roman are at Kaylee's apartment, Letty, Dom, and Brian are downstairs."
"When does baby Jack get here?"
"Elena dropped him off about two hours ago, I just put him down for a nap. Where are your crutches?"
"In my room, I'm not gonna . . ."
"Dom! We knew you would be difficult." she muttered.
"Hey sleepy . . . why are you shouting?" my brother asked Mia.
"She says she's not gonna use her crutches."
"I don't need them and I'm not gonna use them." I argued.
"Home sweet home." he chuckled before jumping into the argument.
Twenty minutes later I walked into the kitchen on the damn crutches. It was that or the more embarrassing option of having my brother carry me up and down. Dinner was quick because I didn't want to be in the same room as Letty for long. I fell back to sleep pretty quickly after my shower and my meds, cell phone in hand.
A week had passed and there was still no word from Luke, after three days of radio silence I stopped trying to contact him. Actions are louder than words and his actions have left nothing to the imagination. Thankfully, I had a lot to keep me busy; Jack takes up a lot of time, then I had some doctor's appointments and lastly, I spent time in the hospital with Han once they transferred Gisele.
