Chapter 11, Pillows Are Great Hiding Spots
"Preston?" Rob called as he slowly opened the door. At that moment Preston wished he could spontaneously combust. He wanted to hide. Somehow. Anywhere. He lifted his gaze just enough to see Rob staring at him expectantly. Preston groaned, and buried his head into the pillow. "Well good day to you too." Rob said sarcastically, plopping down on the bed.
"What are you doing?" Preston asked, unwilling to move from his current position.
"Not sure, what are you doing?" He responded, a smile spreading across his face. Preston ignored it, staying silent and stuffed against his bed. Rob sighed, and his expression changed. "Preston, why didn't you tell us?" He whispered. The younger boy sat up, his hair disheveled.
"It doesn't even matter Rob. This was just something stupid. It doesn't matter at all." Preston responded, his face grim. He didn't want it to matter. He didn't want attention or pity. He just wanted to be alone.
"It does matter! Preston, get your head out of the fucking clouds because you could have seriously hurt yourself!" Rob exclaimed, making Preston shrink back against the pillow.
"Sorry I messed up again, Rob." He said quietly, refusing to talk for the rest of the time.

Paramedics were rushing in, and things were crowded. Adam stood back against the Machinama booth, watching the scene. He'd wandered off from the group, and so far managed to not be noticed. He could hear the panel from here, Mitch's voice booming through the speakers in the desperate attempt to settle things down. I should talk to them. The thought flashed through his mind. He felt uncomfortable but decided to go, zig-zagging through the crowd.
"Adam!" Tyler's voice called from behind him. Adam spun around to see Tyler hurrying towards him. "What happened?" He asked, slightly out of breath.
"Someone passed out." Adam muttered, searching through the group of youtubers. "Wanna check it out together?" He added quickly, turning his head to look back at Tyler.
"Sure." Tyler answered, looking bored. The two quickly made their way through the massive crowd of people, weaving in and out and trying to ignore the people who recognized them. Tyler looked back to see Adam frozen in place. He was just standing there, staring up at the stage. "Adam, what's wrong?" He questioned, breaking the older man out of his trance. He had stood there, not wanting to walk closer. Jerome was right there. Returning the same gaze.

"Jerome? Jerooooome?" He blinked, jumping a bit in his seat and saw Mitch laughing at him, and Matt asleep a few chairs down.
"What?" Jerome said, unaware of why he was laughing.
"Dude, you zoned out for like half an hour." Mitch said, kicking his feet up against a table. Jerome had felt pretty uncomfortable after the panel. He hadn't wanted to run into anyone, let alone Adam. He could remember the exact look on Adam's face. Jerome didn't want to miss him, he wanted to be angry. He wanted to yell at Adam for splitting the group apart. But he just couldn't. He sighed, leaning back against the hospital chair and ignoring Mitch. He couldn't quite grasp why he was so forgiving to Adam. After everything that had happened, Jerome wished that he could hate Adam.
Mitch turned around, attracting Jerome's attention, and Rob walked over, hands running through his hair, looking exasperated.
"Where's Vikk?" He mumbled.
"Getting food, are you done visiting?" Mitch replied, setting an elbow on the back of the chair. Rob sat down, rubbing his eyes.
"Yeah, you guys can go." He said. Mitch hopped up and walked into the hallway, and Jerome was watching Matt, one eye slightly open, seeming to be watching Mitch.
"Matttttt, I know you're awake." He laughed, watching Matt pretend to wake up. "Stop faking it, you looked like someone attached your eyes to Mitch." He added between laughs.
"Shut up." Matt mumbled, trying not to laugh along with Jerome.
Meanwhile, Rob sat half-listening. He was overall confused as to everything that had happened. The group seemed to have all slowly developed their own issues, and barely had the time to help each other. What about him and Vikk? Rob stood up, slipping out of the doors to get some air.
