The necklace hit the water with a splash, and Daoming Si quickly walked away so that Shancai wouldn't see the tears welling up in his eyes. But he stopped in his tracks when he heard another splash behind him. Turning, he saw Shancai wading into the pool, getting down on her knees and feeling into the water. He watched as she repeatedly dipped her hands in the water, desperately grasping anything her hands came across. Even from this distance, he could tell she was in tears. He found himself slowly walking back to her, and his fears were confirmed as he heard her sniffling, "I have to find it! Where is it?? I have to find it!!" He realized now why she had refused to wear it after that night he had given it to her under the stars. She had been afraid of displaying his love for the world to see, of the repercussions that might have, so she had kept it in its box to treasure. And now, he had thrown all that away so carelessly, without any regard for her feelings. He might as well have thrown her aside-- it felt like that was exactly what he did.

He spied Lei in the distance, watching Shancai, and Lei was starting to walk towards the water. Si was filled with resolve and he rushed to Lei. He pushed Lei back and looked him in the eye. "Don't. You. Dare," he said seriously. Then he turned and waded into the water, pulling Shancai up. He held her close and whispered into her hair, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I threw it. I'm sorry I made you cry. I'm sorry I didn't fight hard enough." He felt her arms wrap around his waist as she sobbed against his chest, and he rubbed her back as she cried. Finally, he tipped her chin up to look at him. "We'll find it," he promised as he wiped her tears away, and together, they got on their knees and felt into the water. Si felt a chain brush against his fingertips, and his heart jumped as he fished the necklace out of the water. "I found it," he called out to her, and Shancai rushed to his side. They stood up, and Si carefully put the necklace on her. She touched it almost reverently, and said softly, "I don't know what I would've done if you didn't find it." He smiled and took her hand. "Be with me, Shancai," he said simply. She looked up at him and nodded slowly. He pulled her close and kissed her, and his heart lifted when he felt her kissing him back. When they finally pulled away, Si saw that Lei was gone. He helped Shancai out of the water, and as they walked towards his car, he made a few quick phone calls.

Si and Shancai got into the car and sped down the highway. "Take it all in, you won't be seeing this for a while," Si said as he drove and Shancai watched the Shanghai cityscape rush by. They arrived at the airport quickly, where they were met by Ximen and Meizuo. "Xiaoyou packed all your things, and your parents have been relocated to a safe place. My bodyguards will keep an eye on them," Ximen said as he pushed Shancai's luggage into her hands. Meizuo stepped towards Si and handed him an envelope. "Your tickets are in there, together with your new passports," he said, and Si took out the passports and opened them. He smiled, "Looks like I'm Dylan Wang now." He gave Shancai her passport, "And you are Shen Yue." Shancai smiled up at him, "I like that name. Dylan... DiDi!" The way she said his new name made him smile and he teased, "Let's go, YueYue! We don't want to miss our flight." 

They bid their friends goodbye and stepped into the airport. The next few hours went by like a blur and before they knew it, Si and Shancai were sitting inside the plane, waiting for take-off. "Where are we going again?" she asked Si. "Who cares? All that matters is I'm finally with you," Si replied with a smile. The plane began its ascent, so Si and Shancai fastened their seat belts and leaned back. They were finally at peace, and would live happily ever after.
