Chapter 3: Phone calls

Since Bex was staying at mine we got in our pj's and pigged out in front of a film of 27 Dresses.

After the movie I was in tears. It was such a happy ending. After being a bride's maid after bride's maid she was finally the bride. It was beautiful.

Bex took one look at me understanding and went into the kitchen only seconds later returning with a few tissues for me.

"How sensitive can you get ehh Kait?" I really don't know how we became the best of friends, she's tough im weak, she couldn't care less im super sensitive, but I can handle pressure she cant im stubborn and so is she we make a good couple of loonies ehh?

"Im sorry but you know how I get." she nodded her head in agreement.

Bex's phone rang and she jumped to answer it, she looked a bit worried as she looked at the caller ID.

"Its my mum. Im going to go answer this in the hall kay Kait?" I nodded and watched as she flipped open her phone and went into the hall.

I checked my watch for the time shocked to see that it was almost 1am. Mum's usually back by now. And didn't Bex just say that was her mum on the phone? At this time? Really? Something's not right.

My phone buzzed at the exact same time Bex burst into the room with tears in her eyes.

It was the hospital.

Bex inclined her head to tell me to answer it. I flipped it open already knowing that it wasn't good.

"Miss Harrison im afraid im going to have to ask you to come to the hospital we have some bad news that involves your mother Mrs Harrison" the doctor sounded sympathetic, sorry. This sounds like really bad news.

"Okay, is it okay if I have my friend come too?" my voice was shaking and so were my hands. Whatever this is I have to have Bex there and it kind of looks like she knows what happened. I need her.

"That's fine, see you soon." I closed the phone over and ran to the hall to through on my trainers and my jacket. Bex seemingly got the message and got hers on too.

I ran out the door and onto the road without looking or caring but at the last moment heard Becca shouting at me to stop. I looked to my right to see a black jetta car stop suddenly.

The door opened to reveal a certain someone that I couldn't deal with at the moment. Jayden.

He looked over my face and said something I didn't expect.

"Need a ride?"
