"Just Friends"

Part 7

- Time Skip to School-

Mav POV 

I couldn't get over her. Alexa. We've been friends for so long and she had never once crossed my mind like this and now I can't stop thinking about her. All these years waisted being friends and now this. 

??: Hey Mav. You're looking good today. But you look good everyday.

Mav: Hi Emma. *Mav's ex* 

Emma: so... you free this weekend? I was thinking of having a party... do you wanna come?

Mav: uhhh... * At first I was going to say no. But if I bring Alexa with me maybe Emma would back off*... sure.

Emma: great! I'll see you then- and it's a pool party. *she winked and walked off*

Alexa won't mind going, she never saw Emma as a threat. 

-Time Skip to Lunch-

Mav: Hey guys

Everyone:Hey

Mav: So there's this pool party this weekend... do you guys wanna come?

Josh: I'm in

Celine: Yaaaaas!

Dianna: Why not?

Mycheal: I'll go

Alexa: POOL PARTY HERE WE GO!!!

I start laughing nervously. How should I tell them it's at my exes house?

Celine: where's the party gonna be?

Mav: ughhhghhh... Emma's house.

Mycheal: What?

Dianna: your ex Emma?

Celine: Are you sure about that?

Mav: Yeah guys I'm sure. Sea over me now and we're cool.

Josh: you know for a fact she's not over you Mav.

Alexa's face seemed to drip down. She stared at her tray, speechless.

Mav: guys. We are going to this party and we are going to have fun and it is going to be fine.

They all looked down mumbling their yesses. Alexa stilled said nothing. 

Alexa POV 

Oh my gosh! Mav is actually going to this party! He's crazy. He has to be. I have a feeling there's is just no way this party could have a good ending. I know her likes me and I like him but we're not a thing, we haven't talked about it yet. I just hope nothing goes wrong. I got up from my seat and tapped him on the shoulder, he looked over as I become him silently.

Mav: Hey. What's up?

Alexa: so...uh... I was wondering...uhhhmmm... what are we?

Mav: well... We're friends I guess. * he rubbed the back of his neck*

The response broke me. I don't know why it just hurt to hear him say this. The kiss meant nothing. When our hands were intertwined with eachother we were just friends. 

Alexa: yeah cool cool. I wouldn't want to be more than friends anyways. 

Why did I say that??? I'm an idiot! Mav's face dropped when I finished my sentence. Wow Lex, now u did the trick.

Mav POV 

Wow. I couldn't even hide my feelings at what he said, yeah sure I said it first but it hurt even more to hear her say it. 

Mav: The bell's about to ring- we should go.

Alexa: yeah. I'll see you later Mav

She walked off muttering under her breath. She didn't mean it. I know she didn't. I hope she didn't. But even still it hurt. The last periods of the day sped by, I was constantly thinking about what she said, and how much I wanted her to be lying.

Alexa POV

I walked home alone. Too scared to ask Mav if he wanted to walk with me. I really screwed up this time. I got to my room and practically fell onto my bed. Tears burst out of my eyes. I called Dianna.

*call*

Dianna:hey girl. What's up?

Alexa: can you come over? Like now? *tears echoed in my voice*

Dianna: say no more I'm on my way.

I called Josh and Celine and asked them the same thing. Celine wasn't at home so I put her up on Skype. Josh and Dianna came over.

Alexa: so uhh... remember that truth or dare game we did last weekend? And how it was a bit tense between Mav and I?

Celine: yeah I told u guys to go outside...

Alexa: well... when we were there we ended up kissing. And then the next morning after we woke up we kissed again.

Dianna: and I'm hearing about this now???

Josh: focus this isn't about you right now.

Dianna: right sorry. Carry on.

Alexa: and when I called him over today at lunch I asked him what we were...

Celine: and...

Alexa: he said we were just friends. So everything g that happened this weekend meant nothing. And I got my hopes up thinking he was the right one- but he's just a friend. Wen we kissed the first time, it was after I asked him if he like me as more than a friend.

Josh: Alexa, I'm so sorry. I knew you liked him.

Dianna:is it possible that he could be hiding his feelings for you? I mean Mav has always been secure about how he felt and how and where he expresses it.

Celine: Dianna is tight. Wait till the party. Until then- calm down.
