Elliot was coming and going from the hospital, now. It made violet feel almost worthless to him.
As she looked outside her window to the park below, she had been here for a while, but she had lost track of time. As violet turned it to see who had entered her hospital room, he turned back to look at the window to try not to make eye contact. Elliot had walked in with two big bags of violets favourite fast food joint, Wendy's, she turned to look at him and smiled,
"Here's just a treat I picked up."
"Thanks hun."
Violet opened the bag and dug into the burger.

It had been about 3 months since they came to the institution, and violet was due in about a week.
"So are we going to start thinking of names?"
Elliot said to violet, eagerly waiting for a response.
"I'm yeah, I was thinking of one for the girl."
"Okay.. so what was it?"
"Alice."
"I like that."
Elliot smiled down at violets stomach as she fiddles with his hair.
Today was also their last check up before the baby's arrive, so they walked down to the main part of the hospital, and headed to the ultrasound.
As they finished up the ultrasound, violet felt a sharp pain.
"Ah!"
She fell to the floor. Elliot grabbed her chest and tried to help her up.
"Are you alright?!"
"Ye-yeah."
She tried to stand up and walk back to her room. As she trudged to the elevator her legs gave out. Elliot lifted violet up and ran towards the nearest nurse, panting...
