"When are you going to take responsibility?"
I scoffed, "I am responsible! Hey-" I took my attention away from my father to look at Cassy. As she slipped her panties back over her round hips, I slapped her ass hard with a crooked grin on my face. "-I'll be seeing you later."
Turning my attention back to my phone, I leaned back on my bed, "What's the problem?"
"The problem is that you're not acting like a Don-"
I rolled my eyes. "Is this about the body?"
"You're getting way out of hand, Luciano." My father's voice was stern. He was trying to reprimand me, and as much as I loved him, I wasn't a little boy anymore.
"What, do you want them to have the princess treatment after they're dead?"
"What I want is for you to understand that your actions have serious consequences. This isn't how we do things." He growled out.
I sighed.
He knew what he was setting himself up for when he appointed me to be the Enforcer.
He made his sociopathic son apart of the Italian mafia. It was hilarious that he thought I was the one to take things too far.
People were all the same, selfish bastards that only cared about themselves and I've had yet to meet someone to prove me wrong.
In this continuous cycle of seeing the worst of people, I've become numb to normal social interactions. All I had to do was smile or just give a look before a person melted right in my hands. Whether it was my looks, my money, my charm, etc. they were all the same at the end of the day.
The only excitement I could ever get when interacting with people was pain. That's when you could really see the exposed crumbling interior of the human psyche.
Studying psychological responses to pain was a pastime for me when I was 8 years old.
It's become a part of me.
Besides how could I not be interested in the topic when I had one of the best test subjects in the same house as me?
My own mother.

I groaned, something heavy resting on top of me.
Opening my eyes, I tried to move off the couch but the arm draped around me only tightened its grasp and pulled me closer. I let out a small groan and shivered as a familiar voice spoke in my ear.
"Stop moving so much tesoro."
Luciano's morning voice was both sexy and scary as hell, it instantly made me squirm more to get away from him. It was raspy and deep, sending chills down to my very core.
Wrenching myself from his grasp, I sat up and stretched. I could feel his eyes burning a hole into my back.
I looked over my shoulder at him, my straightened hair falling over my shoulder. His hard face instantly softened and he grumbled as he turned around sulkily.
"We need to get up." I spoke while I stood, grabbing the blanket off of him. A hand shot out to reach for me as soon as I did, but I evaded his grasp.
"Come on." I looked him in the eye to let him know I was serious and he smirked.
"You're sexy when you're like this. You'd make a good Donna, amore." Slowly but surely, he got up and walked his towering form around me, heading to the kitchen.
