Chapter 7
Noah sat down in front of me, he looked worried.
"So...?" Noah trailed off awkwardly. I looked down at my shaking hands. Could I trust him? Could I trust the schools badboy?
I cleared my throat, "I erm--" I cleared my throat again. "My dad died when I was five... It was all my fault." I looked up at Noah, he was staring at me with an expression I've seen so many times before. I've seen this expression ever since the funeral. The look is like a stab in the gut, because the person doesn't know what to say or do. They look at you like your a lost puppy.
"What do you mean its your fault?" Noah asked quitely. I looked at him as I told him what happened to my dad, what I had to see when I was only five years old. The memory that came back everytime I closed my eyes. The memory that will always haunt me.
As I finished telling Noah, a single tear slid down my cheek. I looked down at my hands expecting Noah to shout at me for killing my own dad but he didn't. I was expecting him to walk out of my house and slam the door but he didn't. He got up and knelt in front of me, his finger brushed my chin and lifted up so that I was looking at him.
"It wasn't your fault Skylar, it was a terrible accident that you had to watch--" His eyes met mine, his beautiful sea green eyes that looked so calm. "Don't ever think that it was your fault." Noah wrapped his arms around me, making me feel safe. "I'm here for you..." I buried my face into his neck as more tears fell.
"It's my fault Noah...its my fault that my dad left us... why did he have to die? Why not me?" Noah wrapped his arms around me tighter.
"Listen to me Skylar, It wasn't your fault. Bad things happen to good people. You should never have seen that. Nobody should ever have to see that..." Noah whispered into my hair as he rubbed my back. I wrapped my arms around him bringing us impossibly close. "I'm sorry you had to see that..." He whispered.
I pulled away and wiped my eyes, feeling stupid for crying on Noah. Letting Noah see my most valuable side that nobody other than family have ever seen.
I'm not going to lie and say that it didn't feel good to let my emotions out though...
"Do you know what you need?" Noah asked suddenly, getting up and walking around my living room.
A life?
"What?" I asked, not really listening to him.
"A party. You need to let your hair down, you need fun." I stared at him as if he was crazy. Probably is.
"A party?" Noah nodded. "Me? At a party?" Noah smiled and nodded again.
"Yes. You at a party. C'mon, its Friday live a little..."
"I'll stay home and watch The Vampire Diaries thanks."
"I will get Soph and Han here. They can help get you ready..."
"Didn't you just hear me?"
"I heard you, but I just decided to ignore it." Noah said smirking at me as if he was happy with himself. He pulled his phone out and put it to his ear. "Soph are you and Han still going to the party tonight?" Please say no... please say no... "Okay great. Get to Skylars for 5, bring suitable clothes. I'll send you the address now." Once Noah got off the phone I started moaning.
"Nooah! I don't wanna go!" I pouted out my bottom lip. "I'm not going!" I said like a 5 year old not getting their own way.
"Yes you are. I will drag you if I have to."
"Why do you want me to go so badly?"
Noah stopped his eyes widen, " Erm... because-- because you need to have fun."
