My Happy Ending

Chapter 2

I follow Cyan in his room. As I watch him putting down his bag on the chair of his study table, hindi ko alam anong paliwanag at palusot ang sasabihin ko. Para akong magdedefense ng thesis na hindi ko alam tungkol saan ang thesis ko.

I know it's my fault because I didn't tell him.

Cyan is a calm guy. Kahit galit sya, kalmado pa din siya but it's enough to know that he's angry. Nakakatakot, actually. Mas okay pa yung mga taong literally letting their anger out.

As I close the door of his room, I stand at the back of the door. Tumungo ako when he finally face me. I don't want to meet his eyes.

Cyan is two years older than me. They say we're a perfect match. Well, having Cyan is like a gift that anyone could ever ask for, but he's limited. He's only one. And luckily, I'm the one who got him and he's mine.

"What is that about?" he asked me.

"I'm sorry. I was suppose to tell you about it but---"

"Look at me." mahinahon niyang pagputol sa sinasabi ko.

He's always like this. Gusto niya nakatingin ka lagi sa kanya, lalo na sa mga mata niya when you're telling or confessing something. According to him, eyes don't lie daw kasi.

Dahan-dahan akong tumingin sa kanya. He just have a poker face.

"Now, tell me." sambit niya.

Huminga ako nang malalim bago magsalita. "Lady and I we're planning to apply college in Manila" diretsa kong sabi.

"Manila? How come?" Ngayon, kumunot na ang noo niya, nagtataka.

"I know you know na mas malaki and mas madami ang opportunity sa Manila. Lalo na IT ang course ko, kaya hangga't maaga we're starting na. It's good to start college  there." sagot ko.

Alam ko naiintindihan niya ako. He always understand me and iyan yung isa sa pinakagusto ko sa kaniya.

"Manila is dangerous, Ky." sabi niya. Yeah, I know. Iyan din ang sabi ni Mama sakin.

"You know, I can't always be there for you kasi nandito ang school ko. I can't look after you more often."  dugtong niya.

"I know it's kinda be hard for us also, but can't you trust me? It's for our future, Cy."

This is exactly why your partner should know it first. I should have discuss this with him in the first place.
Alam kong tutol din siya. Nararamdaman ko 'yon. That's why I don't want to tell him. Malalayo kami sa isa't isa and madalang na lang kami magkikita.

"Ky, I always trust you. And it's not that I don't want you to go there. The thing is, yung mga tao don, sila ang hindi ko mapagkakatiwalaan." sabi niya.

"Mom doesn't want me to go, too. That's why hindi ko masabi sayo 'to." sabi ko.

"But you'll still go. Ky, I know you." sabi niya

"That's why I'm sorry ." I can't meet his eyes anymore. Tumungo na ulit ako because my eyes starting to get teary.

He walks closer to me. I felt his hands wrap around me. He hugged me. And with that, tuluyan nang bumagsak ang luha ko. Humigpit ang yakap niya and start to tap my shoulder as I crying on his shoulders.

"Ky, you know I'm always supporting you. I just don't want you to do this again. My ears are always ready to listen to you." sabi niya

Wala na talaga ako masabi sa lalaking 'to. All I can do is to love him more and more and more.

"Can you help me persuade Mom and Dad?" tanong ko sa kaniya after I recover from crying.

We're sitting on his bed now. He smile.

"Why aren't you answering me? Persuade them like how you get their permission to court me" sabi ko and pouted as if I was like a kid.

And now he laugh. Yung totoo?

"Alam ko makukuha pa rin kita kahit hindi ako magpaalam sa magulang mo." sabi niya.

Mabilis kong kinuha ang unan niya na nasa tabi ko at hinampas sa kaniya.

"Mayabang! Palibhasa kasi alam na alam mo kung paano ako kunin eh no?!" sabi ko

"I'm observing you through all that years, Ky. Don't me." sabi niya at tumawa ng nakakaasar.

What am I going to do with this guy ba? Hays.

I have a question, now. I am wondering kung sino talaga ang anak sa amin ni Cyan. Why? Cyan just tell my parents that he will accompany me to apply college in Manila and they just agreed to him. Again. Just like that. And now, we're in a car going to Manila with Lady. Cyan is the driver , I am the passenger princess and Lady is in the backseat.

"Kyna, alam mo ba kung ano ang pinaka ayaw ko sa lahat? Yung maging third wheel." sabi ni Lady. Cyan is holding my hands while driving kasi.

"Ky, alam mo ba sino yung hindi ko pinagkakatiwalaan sa Manila? Iyang isa dyan na naiingit sa likod. Kapag inggit, pumikit nalang, okay?" sabat ni Cyan

Hindi ko mapigilan matawa sa magkapatid na 'to. They are always like this but despite of that, they are the sweetest. Sanay na ko sa ganitong set up nila.

How I wish nalang talaga na I have a sibling din. Only child kasi ako.

After we passed the requirements, we got the schedule na din kung kailan kami mag eexam. Good thing, same date and time ang nakuha namin ni Lady.

"So, magiging driver nyo na naman ako sa susunod?" sabi ni Cyan nung malaman yung schedule.

"Obvious ba? As if papayagan mo kami mag commute ni Kyna." sagot ni Lady

"Obvious din ba? Malamang si Kyna hindi, pero kung ikaw, bahala ka sa buhay mo." sabi ni Cyan.

"How dare you, Kuya!" sabi ni Lady.

"Okay, enough na. Why am I letting my bestfriend to commute? Kung mag cocommute sya, magcocommute din ako. We don't need a driver like you, no! " pagsali ko sa bangayan nila.

Cyan pinched my cheeks. "Ouchhh!"

"Ikaw, isa ka pa! Kung hindi lang talaga kita mahal, nako lang." banat ni Cyan

"Kuya, why are you so corny?" tanong ni Lady.

"Lady, pakiintindi na lang iyang Kuya mo, ha. Pasensya na, ang ganda ko kasi eh" sabi ko

Lady rolled her eyes. "OMG! Why am I even with these cheesy corny couple?" she said while walking to get inside the car.

Cyan and I both laugh.

Lady is always done with us whenever Cyan and I act like that.

"Let's go home." Lady said after we get in the car.

"Aren't we supposed to eat, first?" baling naman ni Cyan sa kanya

"I'm so done with you two and me third wheeling. Let's just go home." Lady said . Nagkatinginan kami ni Cyan. Tuluyan na talaga nawala sa mood si Lady kaya tumango na lang ako.

"It's okay, let's just eat once we got home." I said to him and he immediately start the engine without second thought.
