                                                                               Chapter 3

We started to pack up our stuff and we went to the checkout desk.

"That'll be one hundred fifty American dollars." The checkout lady said in a heavy Norwegian accent.

I dug into my pocket and handed her the money. Soon after that we were on our way out of town to the cabin we read about in the brochure.

"According to this map," Ryker said. "We have to walk at least a quarter of a mile through town before we hit the woods."

"Okay, we should probably get going." Morgan said.

They started to walk through the small town to get to the woods little did they know, Sven was watching them. Along the way to the cabin, Sven was deciding on who he was going to breed with. He couldn't make up his mind so he started to ask his dad.

"I like the one with the dark hair. She looks like she'd be able to make you some pretty babies." His father said.

"But, dad I like the girl with the burgundy hair." He told his father.

"Sven, you should go with my pick. You need to start making babies soon." His father demanded.

"No dad! It's my choice who I get to breed with!" he shouted at his father.

Everyone stopped walking when they heard what sounded like shouting. Sven got quiet and hid behind a large tree. He hoped that they didn't see or hear him.

"Did anyone else hear that?" Morgan asked while looking around.

Des, Haileigh, and Ryker looked at Morgan a little confused.

"No, I didn't hear anything." Des told Morgan.

"I know that I heard something." She protested.

"Ha-ha seems like you're going crazy from the long walk." Ryker said jokingly.

"Ryker! That's not very nice." Des said as he punched his arm.

Haileigh went over to comfort Morgan as des continued to yell at Ryker.

"Don't worry Morgan; I'm sure you heard something." Haileigh told her.

"It's okay. I don't think Ryker meant for it to sound so mean." Morgan said.

"Des, let's get to the cabin already. I'm tired and it looks like it could be dark soon." Haileigh said while looking at the sky.

The others looked up and saw what Haileigh meant. They started walking down the trail again. Sven got up and ran towards his cabin, so he would be there to greet them.

"Morgan? You know I was only joking right?" Ryker asked her.

"Yes," she said while grabbing his hand.

"okay." He said as he stopped to give Morgan a kiss.

"Damn, Des, my arm hurts like hell. I bet you bruised it." Ryker said as he rubbed his arm.

"Serves you right!" des spat back at him.

"C'mon guys. Enough fighting already." Said Haileigh.

They kept walking towards the cabin in silence. After a few minutes Morgan stopped in her tracks.

"Guys look at this sign." She said while pointing towards a tree.

"Wow! That cabin looks beautiful!" Haileigh said.

Morgan had managed to find one of Sven's signs that he placed along the trail. He made sure that they would be very noticeable from the road.

"I wonder how much it will cost to stay." Des said.

"It doesn't say, but it looks expensive." Ryker said.

"Let's go find it. This is the only chance we get to all be together before school starts." Haileigh reminded them.

The group continued down the road and finally started to see the cabin in the distance.
