Let Me Sleep

Apparently my isolation has ended. In this world the first week is used for paternal bonding. After the first week I received so many visitors my head span. My brother was my most common visitor.

He was silent most of the time unless one of the visitors spoke to him. I don't think he ever approached me unless my new parents placed me in his arms. Perhaps I'm his only sibling and he resents me for taking his parents away.

I tried to sleep through these incessant visits only to be awoken by cooing sounds. Some where so over the top that I knew it was fake praise for the benefit of my family.

The visits slowed over time and thankfully I was able to sleep again.

Months passed with me only able to navigate the world through sound and smell. Till one day my new mother drew me close to her face.

Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe her. She had long lashes to die for, deep green eyes that reminded me of a forest and ink black hair with hints of plum in the light. Celeste had high cheekbones and a strong jaw, her hair was pinned up with pearls and her shapely lips were painted red. Celeste had a healthy tan and a good complexion. Her skin positively glowed with radiance. She was very glamorous, and smiled broadly at me.

She pulled away and I protested bouncing and reaching where she used to be. She came back into my view.

"Peek-a-boo"

I held her face in my hand, don't go away, I want a better look. She kissed my nose and I gurgled happily. She laughed with me.

She had an intense glamorous look about her. But right now she was a mother playing Peek-a-boo with her daughter.

Celeste started to make increasingly funny faces during our game. She crossed her eyes, puffed her cheeks, stuck her jaw out. I laughed with every new face. I'm an adult, I should not find this funny. Then again, this is the most entertainment I've had since I died.

Celeste called someone over my brother appeared close to my face. He had blonde hair and violet eyes. No, they were blue with hints of red that made them look like violet. He looked a little uncomfortable so I held his face in my hand and brought my lips to his nose.

He blushed a bit smiling and I patted his cheek. Cutie.

Draco came by later in the day to play with me. He had eyes like Orion, his hair was silver, almost white, and brushed back. He seemed very buttoned up. When he's not smiling he looks very intimidating, but with his family he seems a bit of a goof.

My fa- Draco blew raspberries on my belly and pretended to bite my toes. I kicked him and stuck my toes in his nose once. He laughed so hard that I though he would die.

This is a nice family.

It's just not mine.
