Silent Wish

II. Unfamiliar Breeze

<<Rein>>

"Rein?" he mumbled.

My heart throbbed as he called my name. I don't know how he found out my name but my main priority is to make him leave the forest.

I called the wind to blow him away with leaves. But he just endured the lashes of the weak leaves so I had to use my other option. I need to make him leave or he'll bother the animals ... and my heart.

As the wind blows him away, I sang my song in order to activate the sleeping pores of my tree. The tree released tiny pores which makes any human who inhales it sleep.

No matter how much he tried, he can't resist his urge to sleep. Then later he fell into the ground unconsciously. He laid there with his calm and tender face. I went to him as I slowly caressed his soft hair. He's innocent look could take any woman's heart.

I carefully lifted him from the ground. He's sleeping like a baby in my arms that I suddenly felt affectionate towards him. I dash towards his camp. There were no one else around the camp because its already past midnight. I just left him outside the door as I knocked loudly at the door and retreated back to the woods.

When I returned back to the tree I then started to wonder how he was able to recognize my voice or how he was able to know my name. Only few humans know me, mostly from my sisters' servants.

Now that I know that he knows my name, I started to become curious of he really was.

I just gazed upon the sky. My heart was troubled that it made me restless. I just laid there with my eyes staring at the beautiful stars. I wish my family were here to help me but I guess they're busy with their work. I wonder who would help me in this situation.

'It's him'

I stood up in shock. "Who's there?!" I shouted.

'He knows the answer to your problem'

I kept turning in circle as I was shaking. The strong breeze were following my emotions.

In the middle of the trees, there came out a dark figure. It was wearing a dark black robe with gold in the end.

"Who are you?!" I demanded an answer.

'Only he will be the key to your locked memories'

Its voice were very loud with its voice echoing inside my mind.

"What are you talking about?!"

'You'll find out soon enough' it said as it walked back into the darkness.

I was left there with lot of questions unanswered. I guess I just have to confront him.

The next day, I went back to his camp and there he was sitting with the other teens. I took of my invisibility spell and shapeshifted into an old woman. I walked towards the young group and asked them.

"Excuse me, have any of you seen my granddaughter?" I asked with an old voice.

"Um... we don't know. What does she look like?" the replied in a polite tone.

"She has dark long fluffy magenta hair. She's about 5.4 feet tall. Slim and bright skin. Have any of you seen her? She has been missing since the other day" I asked and acted as if I were very worried. I was describing most of my feature.

"We haven't seen anyone with that kind of hair color here. May-" the dark afro boy's words were cut when Keno suddenly stood up.

"I think I saw her yesterday. She was wearing this blue dress" he said.

"Where did you last saw her?" I held his hands. "Could you help me find her?" I asked.

"Sure ma'am" he went to the adults and asked for permission to help me. He came back with an adult man with him.

"Don't worry ma'am. We'll help you find your granddaughter" the tall man said.

We three went inside the forest with Keno guiding us towards the tree. Normally the guards of the forest would stop us but somehow they were able to convince them to let us in.

As we were walking I pretended that my feet hurts as I fell into the ground. The tall man went to me and tried to assist me. I took that moment to put him to sleep with the sleeping powder in my socket.

The adult man fell into the ground. Keno looked at me with a strange look. I shapeshifted back into my original form and faced him. He was staring at me with shocked eyes.

"Y-you! Who are you?!" he asked as I felt his aura panicking.

I grasped his arms tightly and asked "How did you know my name?"

He took his time thinking of what was I talking about. Then later he realized who I was.

"Rein?" he called my name again.

"Yes exactly! Now tell me how did you found out my name?" I demanded.

"Don't you recognize me?"

"What are you talking about?!"

"It's me, Keno. Don't you remember me anymore?"

I don't know what he was talking about. I released his arms and tried to think of what he's saying.

"Don't you remember us. When we were friends? I, Daniel, Jenna and you were friends back then" his eyes were showing signs of shock and worry.

The wind blows strong as my heart and mind debates. My mind says he's just bluffing but my heart says otherwise.

"We used to hang-out inside our dreams. You would always connects our minds when we were sleeping. Don't you remember that?"

He then kept talking of things I can't remember. He even knows some of my powers. My mind was confused and couldn't take any more of this confusion.

"SILENCE!" I shouted as my emotion accidentally casted a spell around me. The ground was frozen in crystal the trees were shining like diamonds. He was stuck on the ground but luckily his feet were the only one affected by my spell.

"T-this power..." he stuttered as he gazed upon the strange crystals formations.

"Don't spout out any more of your lies!" I slowly went towards him and pointed a sharp knife at his face. "Just answer me, how did you know my na-" I was cut when I felt an arrow shot behind my back.

"REIN!" he shouted in terror.

I touched my chest. An arrow was shot through it. I felt my blood flowing continuously as I quickly felt into the cold ground. Before my conscious faded, I saw an angelic face looking closely at me with his hand wrapped around me. He was shouting non-stop with his eyes crying in tears.

I guess this is the reason why my parent told me to never get involved with any human.

'It's coming'

A cold yet warm voice welcomed me back as I slowly fell into the darkness.
