"Rein!"

I looked behind me and saw my friend coming over me with tears streaming down his face.

"You'll come back right?" He pleaded

I tapped his head "Of course dumbass!" I assured him.

He hugged me tightly and said "Take care, Rein"

I hugged him back. "You too kid"

He let go of me and looked up to me "One day I'll get bigger than you so I can be your knight!"

I laughed since I find it pretty funny for a little human to be able to protect me. He's just about 4-5 years old and I'm more than 1000 years old. But somehow I felt happy when he said that.

"All right! I'll count on you little runt" I joked as I messed his dark hair.

"Rein it's time to go!" My father shouted.

"I'll be there!" I said amusingly to the boy. I bent down to his level and took his hands to mine. My calloused digits passed something to his tiny palm.

"Take care of this gift for me, can you do that?"

The boy beamed and curious look of what's in his hands. He waved the pendant worn of old age like it was the best gift he had ever received.

"I'll treasure it, Captain!"

I'm glad he liked it.

"You promise?"

"I promise!"

I let go of his hand and started walking away from him. It was only a few steps when I heard his voice speak: "Don't forget our promise, okay?"

The hopeful kid, so young, so...innocent. I remained silent and gave him a small, genuine smile. And we were like that until we reached our car, peaceful.

...

Then a few years later... I heard his neighborhood was in danger. Fire gushed out of each house including theirs.

I quickly came back to earth to save my friend only to found out that the citizen was missing.

10 years have passed and I haven't heard any news about them.

I was devastated. He was my first true friend...

My parents were worried about me. I stopped doing my duties and because of that, the Council of Prosperity took action. They discussed what they should do with me.

...

A few weeks have passed and the CoP summoned me. They have told me to touch an orb.

"Rein, would you please touch the Fragment orb?" The cloaked deity ordered.

At first, I was reluctant but then one of the deity used hypnosis on me. I was suddenly walking towards the center where the orb was placed. No matter how much I resist, I couldn't stop my body from touching the orb.

I suddenly felt like my soul and energy was being sapped out of me. I screamed but they were all just watching me in pain.

After that everything went blank.

I woke up to see myself inside the orb. I looked outside only to find my body lying on the ground.

I felt scared. I shouted for help but no one seems to hear me.

Of course, they wouldn't.

...

Right now I'm just a memory trapped inside the Fragment orb.

One of the deity covered the orb and now I can't see anything.

Then everything was pitch black.
