IV. Dreadful Mist

After last night, the counselors punished me for everything that has happened. They said I can't leave my room for three days which consumes our camping trip days.

I can't stop worrying about Ali, something happened to her while I was asleep and I wasn't able to help her at all.

She hasn't woken up yet. The doctors said she was in a critical state. They saw tracks of poison flowing inside her blood. But they don't know what kind of poison it was. Right now their main priority is to study her rare toxic fluids and find a way to save her.

I spent my days trapped inside my room. They still gave me food from time to time so I would not get hungry. While I was stuck in my room, I was ordered to write an apology letter to Ali and the whole camp for all the troubles they think I made.

I sighed and tried to finish their request. After I finished my letters, I lied down on my bed and stared at the wooden ceiling above me.

After retreating to the forest once again I tried to process my thoughts on what exactly just happened. 

Last night, that girl Ali snuck inside the room where I was resting. I could have left earlier before she came but when I saw that boy sleeping on the couch, something inside me said that I should stay a little longer with him. But that girl showed up and ruined my mood, that slimy gross feeling suddenly overcame my senses. I wanted to stop feeling like that so I quickly looked for a way out.

When I saw her touching my stuff I got annoyed so I snatched her attention. Once she got close to me, I took the opportunity to silence her. I injected fluid in her body that would weaken her muscles and slowly draining the energy out of her.  One kiss was enough to transfer my poison. Deadly as it may sound but my poison will not immediately kill her, it will just make her body and senses weaker for the meantime.

After weakening her body, she fell on the floor unconscious. She laid there silent like a small doll, fragile. I suddenly got the urge to destroy and defile this woman's body but before I could even start to, I heard the ruffling sound on the couch. I grabbed my things and managed to rush out of the room before the boy could even wake up.

I fled quickly to the forest and cast a temporary barrier, for now, to prevent anyone from getting inside again. The things that just happened was just too much for me to handle.

I contemplated for a moment, trying to understand my current situation. After a few moments, I got impatient.

'I need answers' I thought to myself. I decided to go to the riverbank just behind the grand tree. I stood at the side of the river and started chanting the calling ritual.

A few notes were hummed as the wind blew colder. A big ripple started to form on the river as the moon shone a bright light upon it. A peal of small laughter can be heard along with it.

A tall silhouette later then came out of the beam of light. A dark mist started surrounding us, it's a special type of magic used to prevent anyone outside from listening or even seeing the things that will take place right now.

I took a few breathes to calm myself down and started to speak.

"M-Mea!" I called out to her name reluctantly.

She looked at me with a small grin on her face.

Her eyes belittling me. She probably knows why I called her after all, she's the Goddess of the Shadows. The one who always spies and has eyes on everyone's lives.

I'm already regretting what I've just done but right now there's no turning back. If there's anyone who has answers to who that mysterious dark figure is... it's her. After all, nothing can be hidden from her Clairvoyance ability.

"Hi Rein." she snickered.

"Missed me much?"
