Vivir

What the heck is up with this girl? I don't think she's a Traisa. All her mental problems must have messed up my necklace somehow, I think she's just stupid. But really, giving him our names backwards? Do I look like a Riviv, to you? And how is walking around in the pitch black forest with our killer, going to help us survive? Like what?
I sighed. I wish I was mean enough to simply abandon her, but I do have some humanity in me. I watched her as she admired him, it was so obvious she was crushing on him.. even though he wants to kill us. Well, when he betrays us and brings out some sort of weapon, I'll be here with my powers.

          I won't let us die.

I looked over at Noah "Do have any idea in witch direction they even went?" Obviously he didn't, as he was literally talking to us and didn't know he'd found us.. but still. "Because I would suggest we find somewhere to sleep. Wandering around aimlessly in the dark won't help anything. We could be going in circles."

"I suppose so.. I don't have a tent, so we're just going to have to sleep on the ground." Ayla stared at him, hanging on to his each and every word. Jeez.

"I don't mind." I say, beginning to slow down "let's stop here, it's as good a place as any."

"Sounds good." He says, stopping as well. "If you guys are hungry, I have some food we can eat." Well, at least he came prepared, I'll give him that.

"That sounds wonderful Noah!" Ayla gushed "what do you have?"

I rolled my eyes as Noah answered her "Some bread, berries and meat. Nothing to fancy, sorry."

"Oh, that's totally fine!" Came Ayla's answer.

We sat down on the ground at the base of a tree, and Noah passed around the food, making sure to leave a good amount for the days to come. We sat in silence for a bit, each of us just concentrating in the food, and not really having anything to say to the others. I guess she was right to go along with him.. we would have gone hungry for sure without him, and- wait a minute "Alya,"I say "what do you have in your bag?"

"Oh yeah," she muttered "I forgot all about it." She set down her berries in a pile beside her, and dumped out the contents of her bag. Me and Noah both leaned in to see.

A pair of socks.... a rock.... a hairbrush.... very useful things, as you can see.... a coin... and a small ring.

I reach over and pick up the ring, meaning to inspect it closer, but it's to dark to make out much. "What's this?" I ask her.

"Oh, that's just some ring I found in my mother's jewelry box. I think it's kind of pretty. It has a blue gemstone in the middle." I hand it back over to her.

Noah yawns. "I think we should probably try and get some sleep.. we're going to have a lot of walking tomorrow." I nod, he's right. It will be best to get as much rest as we can.

Ayla and Noah both proceed to lie down, trying their best to get comfortable on the hard ground. I pop the last couple berries into my mouth and do the same, although I have trouble actually falling asleep, and listen as their breathing events out, and creatures run through the trees around us, before slowly drifting off.
