Ayla

The next morning I wake up to find Vivir silently glaring at me as I sleep.

"Excuse me, what are you doing?"

"Watching you sleep."

"Weirdo," I say as I turn around and try to fall back asleep.

"You know, we should probably get going before you know who wakes up, that can give us a head start."

"Oh, so we're abandoning him now?" I ask, slightly offended. Why would she ever want to leave such a beautiful creature behind...

"Well I thought that was the plan, you know, since he's planning on killing us."

"Can you guys quiet down!" Noah says

I shoot Vivir a glare. How much did he hear? Is he going to know it's us now? I should never have agreed to go with him, I should have just listened to Vivir and looked for the village with her. I'm so stupid.

I start looking through my bag for my hairbrush to take my mind off of things when my hand brushes across my ring.  I grab it and put it on. It's strangely warm considering it's been sitting in my bag all night. I brush off this thought and move on. There's my hairbrush. I grab it and as I'm brushing through my tangled hair, Vivir looks at me like I'm crazy.

"Why is your hair your biggest concern right now!?" She asks.

"Well, I have it so I might as well use it, there's no use in it just sitting in my bag."

As we approach a cleared area, Noah asks Vivir if she has any idea where to find the witches. To this she merely shrugs, and although Noah appears unbothered by this, I couldn't help but feel a bit skeptical, though for my own reasons. I mean, what if this whole Traisa thing isn't even real and we're just wasting our time? Time I could be spending with Noah... Stop! I can't do this! I can't fall in love with some stranger I met in a forest who doesn't even know that I might be a witch! What if I'm not a witch and this is just some coincidence. What if Noah is a witch hunter... I wish I was back at home... as terrible as it was, it was better then sleeping in the middle of a forest with strangers. I wish I had my fathers warm, gooey bread to fill my empty stomach. Before I know it we can see some town with a giant stone castle. Ivy vines crawl up the walls of the aged stone in shapes I could stare at all day. It's mesmerizing. As we approach the town, a tall, blond girl comes up to us and starts talking.
"Who are you?" She asks.
"Um, we're just looking for somewhere to eat.." I lie, we'll not technically lying. The others may not be aware but I'm starving.
"Your in luck!" The girl says, "we are having a harvest festival tonight, stick around and we'll make you feel right at home!"
Noah, Vivir, and I exchange skeptical glances. Should we really trust this girl? She seems a bit crazy if you ask me, but it could just be the un-combed hair and raggedy clothes. Vivir pulls me aside and whispers something in my ear.
"This is the village," she says.
"How do you know? I ask with confusion. How does a crazy girl mean that we found the witch village?
"My necklace, it's burning hot, it gets warm around other Traisa".
"How do you inks it's not just hot because of me?"
"It got A LOT warmer as we approached the village. Also, look, that woman is wearing earrings with the stone."
